I’ve been messing around with another Doki Doki mod (the as-yet-still-demo Brand New Day) and Einhander (which I found at a local thrift for $4.99 on Tuesday)...probably still work on those and the DMC4 Demon Hunter edition for PS4.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is about teenagers but it deals with adult topics. It just has to be done the right way. Hell, there is a manga called Goodnight Punpun that starts out with Punpun as a child and progresses to early adulthood that has very adult topics. It’s all a matter of how you can relate. Maybe it’s not…
I got Devil May Cry 4 Demon Hunter bundle for the PS4 (they have it on sale for under $11 right now on PSN) and started it last night. I’ll probably be working on that some more tonight after running a Sega CD Model 1 through some tests (I replaced the rubber belt on the CD drive).
I spent six years living in Japan, and I agree with your post wholeheartedly. Adapt to where you visit, rather than forcing them to adapt to your jackassery.
When I was in Japan last year, I found that me and my gf were treated a little stand-offedly when we first arrived at places until the staff saw that we were very quiet and polite.
I actually agree with you, my own perspective comes from being Irish and dealing with tourists and wannabe (No you’re not fucking) Irish tourists this time of year every year. We don’t have those types of cultural structures, but the sheer level of disrespect by many tourists towards our elderly makes me think…
It would be nice if Westerners didn’t appropriate our own culture onto every country we visit. Just because something is OK in your home country doesn’t excuse this kind of behavior abroad. And to be perfectly honest, hygene was the first thing that came to my mind. I wouldn’t want someone putting their germ-ridden…
Also been living in Japan for many years, so tired of white people acting like retards when they’re abroad. You remember when white people had sense? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
As someone who wants to eventually live in Japan and has heard how difficult it is to get a permit (one of my acquaintances had to fly to Korea every 3 months for several years before he got a staying permit), stories like this makes me really angry.
I lived in Korea for a long time, and the worst part, by a huge margin, was other foreigners. If I saw a group if them out and about, I’d go out of my way to steer clear so that if they did stupid shit or were acting super-loud and obnoxious, I wouldn’t be associated with it.
Social rules about cameras in conveyor belts on a sushi restaurant? Man, Japan is a lot more complicated that I had thought.
I completly agree with you. Honestly, adapt or go somewhere else.
The least he could have done is ask the permission. You know, like the hundred of thousands of professionals who film documentaries about Japan in the past. Self-proclaimed “Youtubers” are just idiots with cameras.
I totally get your point. I live in Bangkok, and I can’t help but scoff at every dipshit tourist that walks around the city in a singlet, flip flops, and board shorts. BKK is a big, metropolitan city. Dress for it! You can wear your beach gear at the fucking beach.
I’m impressed how oblivious any of those guys in that clip are. Where are they when I decide to play BF1. Probably on my team now that I think about it.
At the very end:
The last time my Toys R Us used the ticket exchange around here was in the 80's. Frankly I think it’s a much better idea for game stores concerned with security (cough) than opening the game case up and taking the game out to store behind the counter (cough cough).
I’m very comfortable being judgmental about this guy and his ilk. He’s repulsive (see pics above), and a loser (a dude trying to play video games for a living who keeps getting banned from playing video games for a living, because he’s so immature and stupid).
Watch these guys on Youtube “irl streams”; they’re awful people, serial cheat on women, druggies, and just generally obnoxious. YouTube streamers have some pretty mature and questionable content, so you get a better look into someones real personality.
We’re humans. We all judge. If you won’t admit it, you’re a liar. That said, some do more than others. But it’s likely that you arbitrarily draw the line conveniently at I’m-not-that-judgmental-but-you-are.
