Knack 2 was pretty great. I hope they make a third one.
How many hours of entertainment did the average person get out of destiny (100+?) vs one trip to the movies (90ish min) vs one bluray/DVD (couple of viewings?) dollar per hour video games are already the best deal in entertainment.
I spent a lot of time in the 90's playing multiplayer games, and that shitshow that goes on now was not the norm. In fact, people who acted like that were banned.
I hear this, but I would only like to bring up this counter point; for people like us, the hardcore audience that plays a significant number of games per year, it doesn’t necessarily make a ton of sense to do the subscription thing, for the reasons you state. On the other hand, gamers like us are a fairly small…
That’s up to you if you don’t want to take advantage of what essentially amounts to a free rental. I’ve enjoyed the pair of Telltale Games I got (which I’m unlikely to replay, so a rental was just fine) and Little Big Planet 3, which I sort of miss not ‘owning’. That’d be easy to get, I would think, though.
Luckily consumers can just reward good company practices by buying games from good companies and punish bad practices by staying away from EA, Bungie, Ubisoft, Bethesda and the like.
He’s not wrong with his assessment, though. Remember, once upon a time people were that passionate about physically owning copies of the movies they loved and yet the industry moved toward streaming services when it comes to home releases because that’s just what brings in more people and therefore more money.
Exactly. If you don’t like something, buy something else instead. That’s what I do as well.
Amen!
Me too. Not getting any of the extra subscriptions.
QUOTE | “I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites. You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99.” - Reggie Fils-Aime says problems placing pre-orders for the upcoming retro console have not been because of supply issues, as he insists the company “dramatically…
It’s strange, maybe it’s because I’m in Canada but I’ve actually not had ANY issue finding Switch consoles. Is this a problem in the states? I keep seeing comments like these. I’m personally waiting for a Black Friday deal to get some kind of game/accessory added.
It’s such a crazy problem, people not being able to throw money at a company for their expensive gaming system. That being said, the Switch is really great.
I couldn’t get a preorder on either Classic system, but I got an NES Classic by going to a Target at 8 am when they opened a few days after it launched. That’s my plan for this one too.
Yeah, Nintendo should just say, “We’re releasing a bundle to taunt you, good luck, few of you will get it.” I already have mine, though, so ... good luck to everyone else this holiday season.
For me it’s that it’s a first party product. I grew up with the NES and it’s very nostalgic having this thing that Nintendo is actually selling that plays those same games in a similar form. The games aren’t digitally downloaded from some eshop. I don’t need an account to manage or worry about. I could and have in…
Dude, get over yourself. Not everybody knows the same things you do, and you’re an asshole if you think they should. The skills needed to put together a working Pi emulator are not necessary for 98% of modern professions.
I hate to break the news to you and this may come as a shock, the average person has no fucking idea what a Pi is.
I would like to buy an NES Classic, but not enough to get in bidding wars, or figure out release dates, pre-order etc. If they ever simply stock them on the shelves at Best Buy, or Amazon, I’ll buy one.
