I have a 14 month old daughter. It certainly gets easier the older they get. ( newborns? Forget it) And having an understanding wife is also a huge help when it comes to gaming. But multiplayer games are officially dead to me. It’s impossible to play any multiplayer. I no longer even try to play multiplayer. MMORPGs?

It’s a fair point but you needn’t be so snarky and melodramatic. The game was just released on PS3 a few years ago. It’s not like it completely disappeared from the ether.

That’s why you go to Super Potato in Ikebukuro. Literally half the price of the marked up games in Akihabara. Akihabara is a tourist trap! Living in Japan for 6 years taught me to never buy anything in Akihabara. Million other places to go!

Very reasonable requests! I don’t know why everybody shouldn’t want such basic features.

Oh please. These comics suck and aren’t funny at all.

yeah that’s the response I’d expect from EA. I wish more people realized how their ownership rights are being taken from them. It boggles my mind people would give up ownership for “convenience”. I saw that ruse years ago.

I don’t use Steam. I’m strictly a console gamer. I do purchase games off of PSN and Gold though, and I am aware of my ownership rights. (None, really) I’m comfortable with that, so long as the pricing is low.

Same here. I buy digital quite frequently, but it needs to be a really good deal.

I think this is true, but maybe only partly. I like to think our current “retro revival” will help younger gamers appreciate physical copies of games. Also, physical games are hardly a dying format. In fact I’d argue we’ll always have a physical format for gaming. It’s not all doom and gloom.

Ha! I remember Gametap. Those are all good examples but I think I’d hold MMORPG’s in a different category, for sure.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Too bad there are so many haters. Knack is definitely a great game. Im debating a second play through. I’ve got such a large backlog of games I don’t know if I can make time!

I suppose something like PS Now? I’m not really sure how successful that service is though, and I’m not sure if it would work for the general consumer in a Netflix capacity. So many ifs.

Exactly! Wish more gamers lived up to that practice though.

You can still operate those games without updates, that’s the thing. You wouldn’t be able to use network features but the game is playable. And when the servers shut off, you still have a game to play. That physical copy is still usable. Unless of course you’re buying games like Destiny. Then you’re SOL. Personally I

Any ownership I’m talking about is physical. I can sell, trade, and lend to my hearts content.

I purposefully don’t play or download games from PS+ or Gold. Why bother? You don’t own them. I’d rather not have an HDD full of “rentals” and I certainly don’t want to support that business model. The only thing I take advantage of is the discounts.

It only screws the consumer. I’m still shocked Sony is actually doing the online requirement for Gran Turismo Sport. Can’t wait to see the reaction when that information starts to spread. That’s fine. My money can go elsewhere very easily. Like, Forza 7. Was going to purchase it anyway but now that I won’t be buying

So if EA wants to number the days gamers own games, then my days of owning EA games are numbered as well. I have no interest in paying 60 bucks for an access only game. Or any amount of money for that matter. I’m tired of countless subscriptions, games that require an always online connection ( Fuck off Gran Turismo

Well, things don’t always go as planned it seems. Playing Mario Kart 8 now and will more than likely play some Wonderboy next.

Just finished Knack 2. Ending chapters were really good. Lots of mecha action I didn’t expect! Great game overall.
