To be fair, Easter is called Passion in almost every non-English language, and the date is tied to Passover, not a pagan holiday. It’s just the eggs-and-bunnies imagery that’s pagan.

Russian was actually the second language I learned after English, because I majored in Russian history. Once you get past all the weird cases, Russian is actually remarkably consistent and easy to learn in both its grammar and its spelling. The Cyrillic alphabet is also pretty easy to pick up.
