Colin Jost looked shook the whole episode. Definitely seemed tied to Cecily’s departure. He was oddly serious throughout Update. And during the Goodnight he just looked out of it. I didn’t realize he and Strong were so close, but the shot of them hosting Update together reminded me think they’re of a similar vintage

This was a bit better than just a C. I’d say a solid B. I don’t know much about Butler other than he was in Elvis but I thought he did a solid job as host. He was comfortable and really threw himself into a lot of the roles. His monologue about his mom was especially heartwarming. Most of the sketches tonight were

Strong reminisced with her boss about how she had been at… RadioShack… for 11 years, but only eight of them were good, which is also a good joke

Sarah Sherman has been great since her first episode and I basically consider her the new Kate.

Not enough is being said about the show’s increasing technical/production errors. Poor sound mixing, missed camera cues and sloppy directing. In last week’s episode, the camera cut back while the actors were still assembling at their marks. This used to be a rarity and now it’s become part of the show.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were the original scheduled guest, but their guitarist is recovering from pneumonia, so Lizzo was brought in as a replacement musical guest.

I was in my 20s when this started and ended up binging the first few seasons of it Circa 2008-09.

The answer: Blair Waldorf.

The Concierge at White Lotus Bali reads about it in their internal company newsletter, in the “This Week’s Murdered Guests” column.

why would you read an article discussing the next season of the show when you haven’t finished this one lol

I actually really liked Seasons 6, 7 and 8. Season 9 is when the show ran out of gas.

You’re forgetting UPN!

Chuck was the “prophet” writing the Supernatural books in seasons 4 and 5.  Turns out he was God all along.  Something they nod to towards the end of S5, but too many people missed that so it needed to be spelled out for them in S11.

I don’t think it’s an accident that so many shows (especially genre shows) hit their all-time peaks in seasons 2-3. It’s when the cast and writers find a groove and the show explores its possibilities before things go completely off the rail. The 100 is a perfect example of that, as are the Vampire Diaries and Reign.

Yeah, it’s a shame because I was super-hyped for it when it was announced but it was a real letdown overall. The real big problem, imo, is that there were only like 2 original songs (iirc) and they were both kinda mediocre.

I didn’t mind the finale because I know they had bigger plans for it but Covid made it so small. Like the ending in heaven with everyone and Kansas actually perfoming sounds like it would have been great.

Buffy went from the WB to UPN. It was off the air before the WB and UPN merged to form the CW.

Self indulgent? Yes. Lazy? No. Song and dance, no matter the quality of the end result, takes so much work its a wonder any musicals get made ever.

Supernatural had 3 points where the series could have ended.

How does this not make the cut? Start over. Add Beebo.
