I mean, I’m no Housewife fan but just because its our yuck, doesn’t mean it isn’t other people’s yums. It’s pretty pop culture relevant, so I don’t see why AV Club shouldn’t cover it..which is shame because without Housewives, Andy Cohen would just finally go away.
You (and I) are the winner because you have never watched a single episode.
Fandom has infected my brain. The part of it that goes “whee Killmonger vs. Kang” won’t really shut up about this. But I recognize that this is a movie with two incredibly talented actors at the height of their powers, so I’ll be alright. :P
If you make this a date night , you either a fool or a genius.
“The highly stylized “Savage She-Hulk” opening is a lot of fun (love that they made Mark Ruffalo stand silently in ’70s gear for that).”
Shai Hulud! They are making shows based on the Kevin Anderson/Brian Herbert books? That won’t go well.
I would agree that some of Monroe’s movies don’t have nearly the cultural relevance they once did, including, possibly, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. But Some Like it Hot certainly is still watched and loved by many people, and Niagara and Don’t Bother to Knock I think will always be watched by those who like thrillers of…
I will profess I was always more a Audrey Hepburn fan then Marilyn Monroe fan, but what you say is definitely true and it warms my heart all the same. She was a good person and to focus only on tragedy is wrong. How people are treating her is similar to true crime victims, defining a unique human being only by how…
Illusions, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money.
I’ll stand with you on AoS. I loved it. I get misty just thinking about Daisy and Coulson.
Fair enough. FWIW, I’m a similar age and probably also wouldn’t do the same myself, for all sorts of reasons. And there can definitely be skeeviness involved in situations similar to these. My only issue (again, not with you specifically, but in general ) is that while it’s fine to be grossed out by whatever, I don’t…
Yeah, the later seasons of SHIELD really do hurt it for me unfortunately. I don’t think that’s due to Iain lack of availability but it probably didn’t help how his character became pretty unlikeable at a certain point. The character writing and the world building really took a hit with S5.
My favourite Marvel villain and villain arc is Hive. I especially loved the meditative ending “I only wanted to make the world a better place.”/”I know.” - Brett Dalton’s subtle differences in posture and delivery were still enough to sell it as a completely different character.
Agents of SHIELD s4 with the Framework and Ghost Rider to me is the best single season of a superhero show. And the final timetraveling season is the best finale season of any superhero shows. Hard for me to see those single season shows, as good as they were, having an impact equal to Agents of SHIELD’s great and…
If nothing else AoS deserves higher just because it managed to do so many stories. I think given time, Loki and the other D+ shows could be better, but they’re at just a single season.
AoS deserves top 1, frankly
Fucken Oath! AoS deserves top 3 at the very least.
Agents of SHIELD at 9th? That’s some weapons grade bullshit right there. You have to do better AV Club (again).
