Why all the Cadillac hate? Seems they can do no right around here. How can people comment that it is over or under-priced based on material quality and driving dynamics when nobody has even been in the damn thing yet!

It uses the same dual-clutch AWD system as the XT5. It is very good by most reports. It can disconnect the rear drive entirely, for MPG. It can route almost all power to RWD if needed, but is not what I’d call ‘RWD biased’.
I sold my MkIV Supra TT in 97 because I thought it would only continue to depreciate...
I like it. And I think the AT4 sub-brand idea is brilliant, but they need to do it right. Make the sub-brand a mini-resurrection of Hummer. Make AT4 models truly off-road capable, sort of like Jeep’s “trail rated” label. And finally, make a new GMC Jimmy AT4 - 2 and 4-door small SUV based on the Canyon, and a true…
I live in rural midwest flyover space. The county to my south allows ATV/UTV to be legally driven on county roads. Which is everything but state highways. Which means this thing could be tooled around town and out in the country as needed. Pretty cool toy!
I don’t like Miatas....
As long as it doesn’t put other people or property at risk. It sure looks like there would be a risk of these things sticking out so far to unintentionally clip a pedestrian or motorcycle. I know if I were on a bike I would not like being near one of these in traffic.
As one who has spent a lot of my own money on recent Cadillac products, including gen 2 and 3 CTS-V, CTS V-sport, and XT5 I can say that I understand where Johan is coming from, at least on the infrastructure comment. I daily’d the CTS-Vs and V-sport, and consider myself an enthusiast, but I’d grab the keys to the XT5…
POLUS actually
Drive a recent one, you will change your mind. I know I did. The Evora 400 sounds wonderful, almost a tinge of Italian V12 and has to be the loudest factory exhaust I’ve ever heard. Power deliver is linear and strong. Lotus designed the engine management, intake and exhaust. Nothing wrong with a bulletproof and very…
Looks surprisingly good, and un-kit-car. Looks like they could be ordered through a Pontiac dealer, although not GM supplied.
I saw one slid into a telephone pole hard enough to shear the pole, and the car was not totaled. Car was put back together and drove well!
Agree. What’s weird is the variety of models Pontiac made. You could get the notchback or fastback, with wing or without wing, T-tops, fixed roof, fixed roof with giant removeable sunroof, V6, V6 GT, 4-cylinder, Formula body, 2M6/2M4 body, and prob more that I don’t remember. Don’t see that kind of variety in one…
Didn’t Lotus get involved with the suspension redesign for 1988? Or am I thinking of something else.
It has a Toyota transmission too
No doubt the LC is reliable, as are most Toyotas. I like the LC and agree it is a well-built truck. I just don’t think it is worth the premium cost. Even the Sequoia and a 10-year old GM product (Hummer H2) scored higher in the reliability stats you posted.
Hey I love Toyota and the LC just as much as the next guy. I have close family that works for Toyota. I understand the dedicated factory and tremendous legacy of the LC in the developing world over the decades. I know it is well built, and over-engineered in some areas. The current LC reputation is built on the…
My Fiesta ST is labeled a “station wagon” on my insurance documents
Why would I not get a Tahoe Z71 or Suburban and enjoy much better MPG, storage capacity, range, towing, tech and equal power for $25k less? I know the Toyota truck myth, but it really is a myth.
I am kinda meh about this. I suppose more power is never a bad thing, but the inherent conflict of a tall 7000-lb vehicle with 707 HP just doesn’t do it for me. It should be a street performance truck - no quad cab, lowered, short bed, AWD. Otherwise this seems like it’s just for show. I see enough lifted, tuned…
