I’m so incredibly torn about this... on one hand, it’s Homeworld.

That’s over 9,000!

Carey Theil ... now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. We met at the University of Oregon, and you wrote one hell of a poetic phrase on my dorm room message board, that I still remember to this day: One juggernaught neuron riot.

And yeah, I wish I could say to devs in any meaningful way “I will not buy your game because you’re only on Epic.” But Epic made it so if I won’t buy the game, they will. I not only lost a voice - someone stood in front of me and said “here’s another copy sold!”

“Steam reduces its share from 30 to 10%” is a very interesting thought experiment. I think you’re right that Epic would pursue exclusives, even if that happened. This isn’t altruism at play; it’s simply a business opportunity for Epic and Tencent. I also think Origin, Uplay, and Blizzard would continue their

Please sir, can I have some more (steam sales).

It still is a free market for PC games. Sell on Uplay, origin, steam, gog, green man gaming, etc.

Steam doesn't need to change.... Yet.

IKR?

This completely removes the power of choice from gamers and it doesn’t really matter at that point if gamers don’t buy it. What are gamers supposed to do?

Similar situation here... just add the Battle.net Launcher to the list for me. The fact that this EGS topic is worth any outrage is beyond me.

Now they’ll have to adapt and that can be very interesting.

Maybe they should take it out of competitive modes, but it’s still ridiculous that people are acting like Epic is horrible for trying out new things.

Does Mario Kart have tracked rankings, now? Back when I played it, it didn’t. But even if Mario Kart has tracked rankings now, I think most people just expect Mario Kart to be Mario Kart because it’s always played a certain way. Mario Kart also seemed to hand out power-ups in a plentiful manner, so it never felt so

I don’t play Fortnite, so I got no skin in this game. That out of the way...

Ban phases are cool... or even allowing the server to randomly ban 25-50% of the available heroes on both sides to test whether players can really adapt.

Bills don’t stop piling up because something bad happened... they will push when and where they can push.

The fact that the sword is drawn only after the ball is fired indicates some very impressive form.

And if he looks far less remorseful, he can end up like Louis CK and be all “but but I did my time for a year. What do you mean I’m still not welcome?”
