@DJM: These new features will be on the second gen iPad, along with others.

@Almightywhacko: It doesn't cache. Whether or not it should (yes, it should) is a completely different argument. That we both would win.

@Almightywhacko: OK, but we're not talking about the EVO. We're talking about the iPhone. It won't do that.

@stopNgoBeau: I hear Cat's Pajamas has some good ones on YouTube.

@BabylonAndOn: In those instances, I just hang up and blame ATT's network.

@Monty: It's usually my mom, or a pimp who I owe money to.

@boomshakalaka: I'm giving specific examples of times when I've needed data and voice simultaneously. None of these were hypotheticals. If you have access to it, you'll find you use it all the time.

@technomom1: It's come in handy for me when I broke my phone and had to revert to my backup handset. Or when my friend did this 85 times.

@resu427: It's going to use the StarTAC screen.

To everyone who says that simultaneous data and voice isn't a big deal:

@Dexomega: It's a pretty big deal if you need to use a map app while you're driving, and need to speak to someone at the same time. Or if you want to get push notifications while your speaking to someone.

@Epon: I've done this plenty of times. Especially if I'm talking and looking for an address using the maps app on my phone. Or if I'm talking and Trapster lets me know of a checkpoint or accident on my route.

@AdrianoBatista: That's all right, I'm on the opposite side of the country. You and I can stay, but that's it.

@howdini: Our house kit is a pre-Fender Rogers kit. It's there if people want to use it, but generally they opt for a bigger kick. I forget the size of ours. I have it written down and just read off of that when people call and ask.

@howdini: Bakersfield. We have music Tues-Sat, but I only work Fri and Sat nights. The rest of the time, I'm 8-5 Tues-Thurs. We have local acts (all country) those nights, and if I had to mix them week after week, I'd lose it. We have bigger acts on the weekend, and sometimes during the week, and if they don't

@howdini: It's an EAW system that was installed in 96. The mains are CB 223s The console is a Sony DMX R100 (not my choice, I inherited it - when it goes down one more time, I'm pushing for an SC 48). The mics are Beta 58s.

@sassafras: No, I know. We weren't disagreeing, I just realized that I was talking about my experiences with live audio and you were talking about encoding. I also realized during this conversation, that I stopped really listening to music a while ago. I play it in the car and in the shower, but strapping on my

@howdini: I usually just apply infinite resistance to that microphone. That solves it.

@sassafras: I don't use the LPF at all on my console, even though it has one for some reason, and I just realized that we're talking about two completely different things. That's my fault. I mix live music, which is completely different than a studio recording. In mastering, they'll try and open up the top end of
