@lewis82: Sibilance is around 6-8K. I spend a lot of time EQing that shit out.

@sassafras: It adds more presence, but most of that stuff will cut out around 18K, and most people in the real world can't hear much above 16 or 17K anyway. At least not teenagers and older.

@sassafras: Did not know that. Although, I don't really know of any instruments that generate anything usable up around 20K.

Actually, I think this is the reason the sampling rate is 44.1K, not the reason the disk is 12 centimeters. I think they had the dimension of the disc, and then chose the sampling rate to make the 9th fit.

@s33flous: Also, it's shifting north, not south.

@Xenarian: I believe they're numbered due to their declination on a compass. If they no longer correspond to that particular heading on the compass, the number is useless.

@EBone: It sounds like he had trust issues, most likely stemming from the physical and psychological abuse he suffered as a child. The way to combat those issues is, sadly, counseling. It's a catch-22.
