I concur. I have been able to drive RWD sports cars in the snow with summer tires on. Not well, mind you, but I still got to work and home without killing myself because I know how to drive in those conditions. If I had all-season or winter tires, no problem. AWD is just a bonus in those conditions, not a miracle…
The Miata Mantra - Happy, spinny car. Happy, spinny car!!
I was hoping this was the one the article linked to.
There is such a thing as economy luxury. Upkeep costs are going to happen regardless of the vehicle you own. It's the new, lower entry price that makes these cars a steal. $15k for a minty 330i is well worth it. I can easily afford that note and upkeep costs. The note on a $35k+ car that will still require the…
We aren't going to stop people from being distracted drivers. It happens to the best of us. But who thought touchscreen radios and climate control was a good idea? I'd like to bitch-slap that person. They might as well have put a cellphone dock in the dash. It's as equally distracting, but a heck of a lot more…
I've had this playing on repeat in the background for the past 3 days and walk around singing the song with a smile on my face.
This is why I would never do business with China. They have no regard for intellectual property rights. They will take whatever you design, copy it, and sell it as their own. It's a cultural thing and part of the way they do business. Why any country moves factories there knowing this is beyond me.
"It's a helicopter, and it's coming this way. It's flying something behind it, I can't quite make it out, it's a large banner and it says, uh - Happy... Thaaaaanksss... giving! ... From ... W ... K ... R... P!! No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, Johnny,…
Despite it being about a CR-V, I really liked the commercial. Makes me want to watch the movie, and Sloan Peterson, again!
Probably used a potentiometer.
Gentleman's feature is so the driver can move the passenger seat forward to give the rear occupant more leg and foot room. It was created as an executive saloon, after all.
Even when it came out in 2000, the Cobra R never tickled my fancy. I loved cruising in the '66 Mustang I had in high school, even with it's anemic 200 I6, but the newer ones... not so much. Good value for a collector, but for me CP. Too many nicer cars out there with A/C, radio, inspired handling and greater comfort…
2nd gear - fun ad!
I like publishing novels. Also, my success rate at properly diagnosing issues with cars is over 95%. Probably because I've been working on them for over 20 years but hey, what do I know. :D
Also wanted to mention that when I'm traveling I do not have access to a scanner. I have my emergency tool kit, but my scanner is tucked safely at home in a corner of the garage covered by boxes and spare parts... I think. I don't own a car new enough to be OBD-II compliant so I rarely use it. However, my…
Autozone/generic scanners cannot read factory specific codes which often point to the exact sensor that reported the issue, when and why. This is why Snap-On scanners and the supporting software mechanics buy costs thousands of dollars. Also, they are legally not supposed to reset the codes.
You are completely disregarding the fact that they would likely put the diagnostic codes in a sub-menu that can only be accessed with the car in park or e-brake pulled.
Said it below and will say it again... How is providing further information to the driver a bad thing? Check Engine light = idiot light. OBD Code = Useful information.
You failed to see that he wants the MIL replaced with an in-dash, OBD code readout. How is providing further information to the driver a bad thing? Check Engine light = idiot light. OBD Code = Useful information.
