1986.
I approve! Awesome!
No, you certainly didn't come across as being rude! Those are all definitely things to consider.
True enough... but seeing how people seem to mostly love money more than the environment, I'm surprised there hasn't been more of it.
I suppose it also depends how said rental car has been treated. A car with bent rims and bad alignment is almost enough to throw anyone off.
I've been saying this for quite a while: Why the heck are we allowing the export of raw goods when we could be making so much more money off selling the refined goods? Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense to be selling the raw goods at x dollars when we could be selling the refined goods…
... which is what, 100 lbs less than a first gen MR2, which had 110-ish horsepower. 25 years ago.
Here's something to think about though: A car with 80 hp is fine... if the car weighs next to nothing and handles like a go-cart. A rolly-polly looking car like the Spark... not so much.
Heck, that's not too far off from a 1991 Ford Festiva...
That would actually make an entertaining t-shirt: "Gravity is my turbocharger" and have a picture of a craptastic economy car. I like it!
Now maybe there's a nugget of good crispy chicken-like advice in there: If you want to know what a car is like, rent one for a few days.
Maybe it's just me, but I see more Honda Fit in it than anything.

I am always amazed when I see passengers with their feet out the window by the mirror. I can only imagine what an airbag would do to someone's legs in such a position.
I think it can be used both as a noun and as a verb:
I'm thinking more the opposite with the Fiesta - the 1.0L ecoboost. I bet it would be an absolute hoot to thrash, and you probably couldn't get in too much trouble with it.
Good eye.
... because it looks a bit more like an early 2000's Jetta (if you squint hard enough)?
I'm guessing mental deficiencies. Sort of like people that eat towels or collect clown paraphernalia.
