I remember when Doug linked my post about “Mods not increasing the value of your truck” and waking up the next morning to 10000+ views and an explosion in the comments section wondering “what in the actual hell happened?”.

I second this. I’ve physically met people from Oppo in 11 different countries on 2 continents, flew that Torchbug over the ocean and have probably met roughly 30 current and former Oppo authors in person. In those 11 different countries, in 10 of them due to Oppo meets. I was on Oppo since before it was named Oppo

Oppo is going to be the new photobucket on forums.

To explain how important Oppo was/is in my life. I literally posted on Oppo the day of my wedding that I was getting married. Like sitting there in the room with my groomsmen waiting for the photographer to get ready to take our shots together I quickly hopped on with my phone and posted.

Seriously though, can never thank the Jalops enough for going to bat for us.

As a Moderator and someone who’s devoted WAY too much time to oppo I am incredibly saddened. I’ve made some wonderful lifelong virtual and real life friends from oppo. Its taught me alot from forcing me to look into technical subjects, to forcing me to re-examine my believes in people. I’ve learned to be more

It has changed my life in some ways. Kinja Oppo may die, but there are some alternates that are already doing well. The

A place where I met so many amazing people (over 50) who took me on many amazing drives across the PNW in Canada and the USA.

This made me very sad to read, as a community we really appreciate the kind words though. We’d love nothing more than to stay here an active part of Jalopnik.

What do you think about wrapping all of Oppo into one gigantic archive? For posterity. It became a place of its own.

I’ve been here since the olden days of oppo and Jalopnik, and will miss it dearly. I’ll print my gold star and membership card and display them with pride.

Long live OPPO, indeed.

So sad.
