Angel Beats! was my first exposure to Jun Maeda and Key, and it still holds a special place in my... heart. Not sure how much of it is nostalgia for one of the very first anime I watched, but I love it dearly, ending and all. Read more

Ah, the dreaded backlog of unfinished articles. I’ve got my own fair share of those too. It’s hard to get the momentum back, especially when it’s been (checks notes)... 2 years. Oh dear. Read more

This is such a fantastic series, I’m glad there’s someone else evangelising for it. It really is impressive how strong it is from the first page, and it hasn’t let up yet. Plus, it recently became an award-winning series too! Read more

Wow, that anko really did make great dorayaki, huh? I mean, that looks downright professional. Nice work (and nice instructions)!

I’ve been kicking myself ever since I finished the game, wishing that I’d bought XIII-2 and Lighting Returns during the same sale I picked up the original. At the time, I talked myself out of it by thinking “but what if I still don’t finish it?” Silly me.

That’s a good point; I’ve changed a lot in the years it took to come back to the game, and I’m sure that was a major factor in my appreciation for it. The joy of revisiting something from your past and seeing it with a whole new perspective really is something else. Not so much the joy of nostalgia as the joy of... Read more

Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of good things about FFX, so whenever I work up the courage to dive into another Final Fantasy, it’ll probably be that one. Goodness knows a linear game won’t bother me.

Oh man, that looks really good! I bet that would be way better for daifuku. Probably make some killer dorayaki, too.

Wow, that looks good! The other day, I decided I wanted some daifuku, which naturally resulted in making some anko myself, but yours looks like it turned out much better. I think I got a bit impatient, as the beans were just a little bit too firm at the end. I still have half a bag sitting around; maybe I’ll try this Read more

Yeah, this being my only game in the series, I didn’t really have a point of reference for what people were complaining about, so when the game opened up in Chapter 11, I finally could see what they were getting at with the linear gripe. I don’t agree with them that it’s a bad thing, however; I quite like the flow of Read more

Wow, has it really been that long? I really love reading these, and it’s obvious you put a lot of work into them. Thanks for bringing this back!

Oh, I loved this series! This author is so good at taking simple or worn-out ideas and breathing new life into them. His art’s... fine, but the characters and plotting are so good! Both this series and Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer are on Crunchyroll Manga, and they’re both super worth your time. Oh, and so is Planet Read more

Katawa Shoujo is easily the best thing to come out of 4chan. It still boggles my mind how they even produced something that good. Read more

What truly astounds me about the fault series is how high the production values are. I haven’t played through milestone one since before the graphics overhaul (or even since the re-translation), but milestone two side: above and the Silence the Pedant demo are just phenomenal. They do things with the engine I didn’t

My RA in college did that same thing with the mac and cheese and ended up setting off the fire alarm, so the whole dorm had to evacuate in the middle of the night. Microwaves.

Yeah, I’m not sure I’ve seen any other series adapting a full cour out of a single volume. Most are what, 4 episodes per volume? Or Occultic;Nine, doing 1 volume in 1 episode. That’s quite the spread.
