Wasn’t Topher’s steel lego castle the same as well?

Hot take: I really, really like this show.
Gonna hard disagree on that one. The level of ominous tension that the soundtrack is bringing to the show suits the dark themes perfectly.
I like the way it both calls back to the time period that fundamentally changed this society, and harkens back to a near future where tech could over power those who’ve spent so much time fearing it.
Respectfully going to have to disagree. Beginning a series with an over looked massacre, examining how reparations would impact the culture, and casting a 48 year old Black woman as your super hero lead is bold.
Okay but Grandpa is absolutely Hooded Justice now, or is directly tied to him, I know the actor is listed as playing an “Iron Eagle” but come on now. Why even show HJ so prominently on American Hero Story if that’s not an intentional misdirect. Grandpa wears HJ’s colors, was seen in the opening reciting movie dialogue…
I’m Jennyuinely excited to see this.
The fact that this show is being review bombed on both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB complaining about ‘leftist soy-infused’ politics and ‘liberal woke race-baiting’ means it’s doing something right.
No one screwed over Moore. Moore knew what he signed up for, but did it anyway. I’d rather not join the vocal minority of mentally-stunted comic fanboys who never grew over their Moore phase. It was embarrassing in the 90s when we’d had time to grow up after reading his work, and it’s embarrassing now.
I have a theory that Jeremy Irons is playing Doctor Manhattan, not Ozymandias. At the very least, Adrian is now working directly with Jon.
He’s absolutely on Mars. We see Doctor Manhattan building a new palace, and it looks just like the caslte that Jeremy Irons is living in.
Jeremy Irons seems a bit odd and detached,…
I’d check your TV. I thought they did a great job lighting. Regina in all of that black.
At least one producer is Black and two of the writers out of six on staff are Black. The pilot was directed by a woman. There’s a lot of diversity behind the scenes.
Those poor fucking actors.
It’s interesting how far off of the rails these early streaming hits end up going. Shows like this and House of Cards kept coasting long after anyone cared and ended up doing...things.
I’m still laughing at the Kars4Kids jingle being the official song of the bad place.
These reviews are incredibly hard to find on the website: they’re not categorized, they’re not on the TV Club front page, they’re not anywhere - I found it through Noel’s twitter. Seems to be the case for more reviews right now, but it’s kind of frustrating.
Her saying the lord’s prayer while shooting porn after being directed to pray is one of my favorite jokes they’ve ever done on this show. The whole thing really is a lot funnier than people give it credit for, often over-focusing on the bleakness of the setting. It’s a very dry, fatalistic kind of humor, but it never…
NOEL MURRAY IN THE HOUSE
“Pose’s triumphant finale doesn’t tie up all the storylines from its second season (hello, does Elektra still have a dissolved body in her closet?)“
So while Farouk changed David, David changed Farouk? I guess. I’ll have to ponder that for a bit.
