I appreciate your point about iconoclasty. I recall reading that Madonna has always been a fan/collector of fellow NY artist Cindy Sherman, whom she describes as inspiring her career-long passion for the repetitive “reinvention” of her person. The older Madonna gets, the more I can see Sherman’s influence.

Love it! Also love Miley’s “Slide Away” and “Midnight Sky.” But I find her strange as an interviewee and do think she must have been difficult in relationship. Seems to suck up all the oxygen.
