If you use Windows, you can use the MS tool called MS Keyboard Layout Creator and assign your preferred characters to desired keys. E.G., I use AltGr with those keys to type some characters: m = µ, . = ·, x = ×, s = ß, c = ©, r = ®, and a lot more.
