I don’t think those people in Oregon pursued resolution through the system, or are being oppressed, or are victims of tyranny. I think the vast majority of people in the United States don’t think so either.

I don’t know where that line is drawn. I would say somewhere beyond the exhaustion of peaceful means of process. Historically it seems that oppressed populations know when it’s been crossed.

Interesting point, but I don’t think I agree. Acts of tyranny are not sanctioned by law. Where laws conflict with our values as a society, we have the legal and peaceful remedy of redressing our representatives.

I don’t know that anyone decides to wallow in idiocy, it’s just where they wallow. I don’t believe that meeting ignorance with superiority and condescension changes any minds. It’s just divisive.

Yeah, I had the misfortune to bring up the fact that some people believe the moonlanding was propganda in the home of two (father and son) engineers who worked on that project. I wanted to get their thoughts about that. And...I got ‘em.
