dominance fantasies over various heads of state
Cannot. Wait.
I think it's both poetic and entirely fitting that I just choked on my sausage sandwich while reading that.
writing a trio of hugely popular Twilight fanfiction books under a pseudonym that are in the process of being turned into a major motion picture.
Generally I'd agree. But rules are made to be broken.
Abso-fucking-lutely.
I'm blessed with friends who are just as Loki-obsessed, vain and sartorially critical as I am. I get indulged excessively in discussions like these. It's a first for me on Jezebel, though!
I was going to say the Queen! Princess Margaret and Audrey Hepburn joint second :)
Oooh, I don't think I can agree with you there, but then I'm very biased both by being an incurable Royalist and by having spent many an hour procrastinating on Order of Splendor.
It looks like the sartorial equivalent of a hernia. Ugh.
Don't start talking about Hiddles in a tailcoat on Jezebel!! Do you want to start a riot, man?!
Most of my male friends own tailcoats (I went to a university which had a lot of white tie balls, and also seem to gravitate towards dandies socially) and I've never seen them get so riled up about anything. All these big beefy rugby boys and trainee bankers ranting about starched wing collars and tailcoats and hat…
Ah, silly me, I'm getting my nerd crushes mixed up.
Well I've been to a few white tie balls in my time, and men do end up just carrying around their top hats most of the time, because you aren't supposed to wear them indoors. They're really just for your arrival.
Ha! Exactly what I was thinking. "White tie" does not mean a white tuxedo, men of Hollywood!
I'm rather (read: VERY) disappointed by this - a "white tie & decorations" dress code is what you'd get at a State Banquet, i.e. white tie for men (which means tailcoat, not just a white bow tie) and formal ball gown plus tiaras (if they've got them, and don't tell me Anna Wintour couldn't get her hands on a tiara),…
That sounds wonderful! Definitely keen. I'm a Surrey girl really but live with my dad in London during the week while I'm at law school.
I absolutely love the V&A. When I'm stressed I walk there and wander around the jewellery section. I find tiaras calming!
Very true. The fashion bloggers I know (and I live in London, they're everywhere) spend half their time hosting shopping events and the other half instagramming carefully styled pictures of the bags they got free for doing it.
