Ach, that IS annoying. Half the pictures on my Facebook wall most definitely involve make-up of SOME kind, concealer at least, but they have all donated so it's merely irritating instead of rage-inducing. (Disclaimer: I didn't actually do the selfie, since I barely ever wear makeup anyway. My post was "Just donated,

Maybe yours aren't, but all my Facebook friends are posting the selfie and the text confirmation thanking them for their donation at the same time.

Well I'm not saying that girls never wore pink and boys never wore blue, it was just the general association. You're probably right about the Virgin Mary, it's certainly the colour I've seen her depicted in most often.

Yes, it's true. Blue used to be associated with girls as it was a more "calming" colour, where pink (as a toned-down version of red) was associated with boys as it was more aggressive. I don't know much about it, but I believe the switchover didn't occur until after the Victorian era. The more you know!

I'm British and if I didn't have American friends, when I first went to the US I would have just tipped as we do in the UK - 10%, rounding up to the nearest pound. It isn't intentionally stingy, but at home I wouldn't tip 20% unless the waiters performed a pitch-perfect rendition of "Be Our Guest" while they brought

Kim Kardashian is a beautiful woman, but that doesn't mean this wasn't terribly styled IMO

I think Wintour was so pissed off at being strong-armed by Kanye into putting her on the cover that she gave her the most hideous hair, make-up, dress, pose and background she could think of.

Agreed. Also, it looks like someone's been using that contouring makeup on her face and got it wrong, because she seems a bit... grubby? Or maybe it's fake tan or something? Odd.

I know it was, that's why I put "American version"

Well, once upon a time I was of the campy goth variety. In fact, I spent most of my teens dressed as a baby Morticia Addams (hence the picture). So there may be some truth in that.

Yes, I agree. A nice Malbec vs. a cheap Sauvignon is very different to an overly tannic Merlot vs. a rich Chardonnay.

Jack Daniels over Absinthe? JACK DANIELS OVER ABSINTHE? I mean, to be fair, I doubt everyone has had the magical absinthe moments that I have been lucky enough to experience. One time I got wasted on it at a Peter Pan themed college ball where I was DRESSED AS TINKERBELL, i.e. an actual green fairy, and spent a good

... you know this was published in something like 1850, right?

I have a black cat too, called Salem! She's even more of a wimp than me. The only help she'd be against an intruder is as an early warning system.

No matter how weird my friends and family think I am, I can always find a Jezzie who agrees with me!

This is horrifying.

I'm a Londoner, so it's almost legally mandated that I say Jack the Ripper!

Ralph Fiennes must be the cleanest (or diiiirrrtiest) man in the world, because I shower with him too!

I believe that is Sam Branson. Son of a billionaire, but sadly married.

Totally. They also took out a lot of the harder-hitting stuff (e.g. making it clear from the start Jace and Clary weren't related), which made it even more campy. And I LOVE campy stuff.
