Today was a big day in the Blalock household. We adopted Kira (formerly Snow White). So I am also making this a Saturday Night Selfies post! (Warning, I am not going to delete this post.) We will be staying home tonight to help Kira acclimate to her surroundings.
I humbly solicit the help of the hivemind of gt (if someone with posting privs wouldn’t mind sharing this, it would be awesome — but I get if that’s not cool.
You know what I want to watch? I want like a big sweeping romantic epic a la The English Patient, but it would be about King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.
I don’t know where you live, but unfortunately illegal is relative. In D.C., landlords can come in. I actually had a friend ask me about it when her landlord did the same thing to her, and I pored over the D.C. Housing Code to see what it said, even though I was pretty sure from my previous work in landlord-tenant law…
If someone enters your apartment again with prior notice, I would look up the law in your area and then send your landlord a notice which explicitly points out this section.
I’ve had other landlords handle it the same way but I’m still not sure if it’s really legal. It might not be, idk.
Screenshot that and send it back to him.
That was so not cool. I think it may vary state to state, but in CA a landlord have to give at least 24 hours notice before entering a tenant’s unit unless it’s an emergency.
Agreed. There’s a right/legal way to address requests like that.
