If they were physical buttons, likely one was stuck.  If you hold down a button it flashes.  If they were the touch sensitive ones, probably a short in the wiring.

I may be an outlier, I have Fordpass set up so I can lock and unlock my truck with my phone, but I am CONSTANTLY using the keypad. Especially to lock it.
