I always appreciated the Prelude for two things:

I put some Nexens on it because the stock tires had zero traction. Also took off some of the badging. But other than that, it’s stock.

Our Bolt is the same to insure as a Tiguan. (ymmv)

Agreed. I just bought a 2020 Premier trim with 16k miles in August for $11k after the tax-rebate. No issues at all. It’s the perfect commuter car and costs less than $200/month to finance. Wife loves it and I find myself stealing it all the time to run around town. Ugly as sin but fun as hell.

Anything dangerous (Like the Carolina Squat) should go first. But if we’re sticking to just cosmetics: headlight eyelashes. They always make me feel a bit queasy.

EV’s are still great options as *2nd Cars. (I just recently replaced my wife’s SUV with a 2020 Bolt with 16k miles. The trade in + gov’t subsidy dropped it from $15.5k to $8k, with a payment of $150/mo... that’s less than what she was paying for GAS.) I live in a blood RED state and yet my monopolistic power utility

most non-truck Dodges... especially the Hornet & Dart

I saw a Smart in the Costco parking lot and had to wonder what the hell they planned to do inside the store.

Vibes/Matrixes aren’t going ANYWHERE. They are the darlings of the DIY. I see them pretty frequently in Alabama & Georgia, mostly driven by working people who appreciate their repairability and longevity. Agree on the Yaris, even if it is a Toyota, they are so so ugly that a lot of people will pick another car to

45yo guy here... every time I see a well-appointed Flex (monotone paint, upgraded wheels, etc) I adore the lines and wish they were available with a hybrid powertrain. I would snatch one up. Perfect people haulers. Placid ride. And so much space. Like an Element for people instead of dogs & gear.

Cheap labor AND stupid-huge tax breaks. Sometimes ZERO state taxes.

shocking... but that’s the exact thought that came to my mind, as well. Then I scrolled down and saw it, right in my ocular cavities.

Came here to say the same Element things: No carpet to de-hair. Just hose it out and dry it with the leaf blower. Seats keep clean with quick wipe. Lethargic as hell but it’ll be more than enough oomph compared to a 2009 Sentra. Hell you can even get a manual. Cavernous rear. More do-it-all than your mom in college.

I have a 2015 VW Golf TSI manual that runs like a top. Never had any issues other than the parking brake wire broke in 2020. Great mileage. Sleeper-fast. Solid build. Smooth commuter. Nice stick... clutch is a tad long but took about a week to not notice.

Watch your speed in Boiling Springs. They ain’t got a thing to do. They’ll get you every time.

Is that a Plymouth Colt?

When I graduated from college they gifted me an sixth-gen early-90's Plymouth Colt with only 2,400 miles on it, and took away my early 90's manual Accord (to this day still one of my favorite cars I’ve ever driven) with less than 100k miles. The Colt didn’t have cruise control, and it started to come apart over the

Thank you. This is what we need. But we’ll never get it because fewer new cars would be bought.

Exploding combustable fluid in a fixed space in order to push a piston is really fun, but it’s also stupidly inefficient.  It’s also bad for us and our planet; this is otherwise known as outdated and non-sustainable. Like it or not, EVs are our future as they become more affordable and the technology proves itself as

I’ll never forget how my first college girlfriend taught me how to drive a manual (an early 90's Honda Civic) in 1997. She laughed so hard when I bottomed out, over and over again. Made me drive all the way from Auburn University to Birmingham, AL, to her parent’s driveway so I’d know how to really start up a hill
