Hachi, there are a few absolute truths in this world. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Gravity keeps your feet on the ground. Hachi can do no wrong. You just don’t question these things.

Yeah, I really remember the first handful being pretty good, but the later ones just pretty much became the same thing over and over again. It became monotonous. New threat, fumble around for six hundred pages, resolve the issue at the very fucking end in a page and a half and wrap shit up.

I think I got up to the point with the girl who was like, an anti-magic field or some shit? I really don’t remember, it’s been a long time. Shit dragged on and the stories just weren’t really as entertaining as the first two or three.

Much like most of the long spanning fantasy epics I read when I was in High School, Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series just got worse and worse as it progressed. It really makes me wonder how many of these authors just pull shit out of their ass to keep a series going when it should have been ended a half a dozen books…
