imo the horsepower wars got ridiculous when not-all-that-special cars got more power than cars racing at LeMans or the Indy 500. FCA makes a 700 horsepower grand cherokee ferchrissakes. mustang weighs 180lbs more than the m240i. The GT with performance package is still a lot cheaper than the BMW.  I also prefer smaller cars but the m240i is ridiculously heavy for a car of its size and class at 3500lbs.  You might as well spend another 5k and get a corvette.
