I’ve done lots of driving in the UK and have spent 50% of this year so far on the left side of the road. There are some things I really love about driving in England.
Except for the fact they 1) live in Iowa and 2) have a giant Bud Light poster in their garage. Likely meaning they have both poor taste in cars and beer.
Two in fact. And the reliability was abhorrent. Even the 2014 JGC rental which left me stranded on the side of the road in Seattle. (Engine switched off and would not restart...full of fuel.) I’m at the point where I’ll never own another and will generally avoid ALL FCA products as rentals.
How cool is that. Incredibly remote location powered by a nuclear reactor. Video was EPIC!
I absolutely love the London Underground. Of all the big cities I’ve visited in the world, it’s the easiest to navigate, it’s by far the most thorough and once crossrail is done, you’ll be able to get from Reading all the way across the city in under an hour. Check out the history of it too. Very cool.
Agreed. I have turned down more than a few patriot rentals. I hate the compass even more. Seem like warmed-over platform mates with a PT cruiser made worse by the subtraction of a gearbox and the addition of a CVT.
This. I have had a few friends trade them off here in CO since they seriously struggle with the elevation and going uphill in the mountains. Add a small turbo and you’d be all set. This is by far and away the best looking Crosstrek...even if they did buy it in “prosthetic.”
I had the unfortunate experience of renting…
And thanks for the referenced article. That’s well written!
You are absolutely, unequivocally correct! Whist I do lots of driving here, most people towing are poking along quite slowly (as they should be.) I also like the lorry regulations at (57?) mph. They tend to stay left as well except for the long car park known otherwise as the A14. I really hate that road.
You won’t die. For some reason, us Americans are under the impression you need something the size of a house to tow any trailer. I spend a ton of time in Europe and constantly see people towing caravans which are much larger than their tow vehicles. Be careful, drive well, and you’ll be just fine.
Saw an A6 towing a…
If you could get the dealer to knock $10K off it so you could have it sanded and repainted, then sure! NP. Otherwise...with that livery: CP.
Fair enough. My house was built in 1993 in Denver. Look at the west. In the word of “Weeds:” Ticky Tack.
We are the United States of Walmart. We do things faster and cheaper, not necessarily better.
This is the only one worth owning. I was saddled with quite a few NA ones with the 4-speed auto box which was like taking a massive step back in time.
I think it’s mostly just due to the Chrysler quality bugs. Honk if parts fall off...
My bus in High School (Comal ISD in TX) had a couple with the 7600 hoods. They also ran Cat 9L TD engines in them. Back before the electro-nannies, they would fairly easily cross 80...
Yep, all Heathrow terminals are there now. T2, T3, T4, and T5. (As I’m sure you know, T1 is being demolished now...)
That’s just a roto-tiller with a welded-on trailering package!
I don’t know...probably not. Shows you who buys the fastest depreciating, least reliable major American car manufacturer.
