When asked to comment, his wife replied “I win bread, I SAVE BREAD!”

“But your honor, go easy on me. Since I killed my parents, I’m an orphan”
Eh, I’m not big on allowing the young to dictate grammar. “On accident” is a fairly new and very American usage, prevalent among young people. Prevalence, much like volume, doesn’t confer legitimacy. Proper usage is either the adverbial form or with the preposition, “by”. I'm planting a flag on this bullshit!
“By accident” or “accidentally”, not “on accident”.
For shit’s sake, Sarah, you can’t erase Kristy Swanson like that. I was introduced to Buffy 23.8 years ago, and gladly.
“More serious crime” takes precedence. And I think a lot of cops think most rape allegations are bullshit. So they don’t put a priority on it, shelve it, and move on to other things.
And if his career is ruined, it’s his fault for doing the harassing. If he’s the Dean of a Law School, it’s not like he doesn’t know better.
if i understand, though, this doesn’t signal any kind of a landmark shift in the court’s opinions about abortion; they’re just telling the circuit court to cool its jets on the louisiana law until they rule on the substantially-similar texas law. so it’s more about not wanting the circuit court to go making decisions…
I have nothing against him but I don’t think that’s it. There’s nothing particularly intellectually challenging about a tit joke.
I have this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side....
The good thing about Leo winning is now everyone will STFU about it. Tom Hardy is ten times the actor Leo will ever be. Leo has been in good movies, but he has zero range. He’s either freaking out, or being charming.
YES! Having Ryan Reynolds is like... Driving through a Yugo dealership in a Mazerati. There's nothing to see.
the cost of living has risen since then, and it’s safe to conclude that salaries have risen along with it.
The detail that stuck with me was the explanation of time/space travel by holding a string outstretched and then bringing the hands together. Mrs. Whosis or Mrs. Whatsit does this to demonstrate to Meg how it works. (Or is this in a later book? I’m 99% certain it was in AWIT.) Anyway, that detail has stuck with me so…
The Phantom Tollbooth!! UGH so great. I spent all of elementary and middle school SO EXCITED about reading, and I’m so pleased that I was able to devour all of these books. One of the things I’m most excited about my sister/best friend/me having children someday is to be able to introduce them to so many amazing books…
I bought a set of Madeleine L’Engle books for my niece. She’s still a little young so i haven’t gifted them yet. I’ve been very very tempted to open the package. (I know, I could just buy my own)
1) This is one of my MOST favorite books of all time, and can’t wait to see it!
I think that was A Ring of Endless Light.
The delicious looking food (turkey dinner, I think) tasting like sand is that little detail for me.
Old bananas= new banana bread!
