I’ve done both and mostly agree, but don’t discount 3 minutes of punching and kicking if the instructor is sufficiently sadistic. I’ve almost passed out a few times trying to keep up with round kick pyramid drills.

Top pic is a sea otter. This is a river otter. Smaller, less mustachioed, less rapey, but still mean and vicious.

I think we agree entirely. Writing should be made as simple and clear as possible given the specific topic and audience. It was the “whatever you are writing” part that was my main complaint. What you are writing and who you are writing it for matters a great deal.

Exactly. There are lots of problem with science journalism and using big words is probably one of the smaller ones. 100% agree with attempting to make things as clear as possible and not needlessly complicate things, but the “whatever you are writing” part was my main complain. What you are writing and who you are

I don’t see how “Whatever you’re writing, you should probably try to reach a lower reading level.” can be drawn from that data. It’s generally good advice when you’re writing for a lay audience, but it’s horrible advice if you are writing for technical journals or for a scientific audience. Your audience very much

Imagine raquetball, but played without the right side wall (that’s how the audience watches) using hand baskets that fling giant golf balls fast enough to kill people (upwards of 150mph). Hell yeah you can gamble on it. I’m surprised that it isn’t more popular. I bet it would be if the injuries and fatalities were

Noscript works for me.

I wanted to give you a star for this, but you’re at 666 right now and I don’t want to take that away from you.

“The key is to pack your suitcase in such a way that we keep anything that might appear to be a triggering device physically separated from anything that might be mistaken for explosive material.”

1) Fed scientists don’t make those decisions- that’s above their pay grade (so you have a point about the ex-Monsanto head).

My friend had a greyhound that did the exact same thing. Farts noisly and wakes up, he briefly sniffs his butt, then gets up and quickly leaves the room. In three more seconds when the smell made it to the people in the room they all left too.

“Tesla contends it can’t sell through traditional dealers because its business model depends on convincing customers to choose the company’s technology over a traditional car, something that would be a conflict for dealers who also sell traditional cars”

Try going up to the second FF setting between plays and real time during plays. If your timing is right it’s even better. I can get through entire games in less than an hour.

I’ve actually got Allstate and volunteered to let them monitor my driving using a dongle on the OBDC port. It only monitors when you drive, how far you drive, and how frequently you slam on the brakes and the information it gets will only be used to decrease your premiums- they won’t go up. The high risk people pay

I second or third this. We are light data users and pay $32-40/month for two phones after taxes. Excellent service and support.

Ditto on the actual human answering the phone and helping you immediately. The odd flip side of this is that they never reply to their emails. So always call, never email.

That constitutional protection prevents us from being tried multiple times for the same crime. This is being tried once for multiple related and/or overlapping crimes that all could apply.

I think that it's less about learning the technique and more about transitioning gradually and not overdoing it to give your body time to adapt. It also probably works better for different people- the toe striking of barefoot running reduces peak loading on the knee but is harder on your achilles and ankle. So people

Yeah, but different tissues heal at different speeds. Microtears in muscle heal pretty quickly, so lifting won't really do much major damage unless you really overdo it. Bone heals less quickly, then tendon and ligaments, which get very little blood supply. If you damage these tissues faster than your body can repair
