Showers are very important for the homeless for a lot of different reasons - because homelessness has a lot of different faces. For the living-in-my-car homeless, this gives them opportunities to get/keep work, find housing, etc. It helps get them out of their situation and prevent them from slipping in further.

I never know how to feel when it comes to articles like these. I have about 5 people, tops, who would ask me to be in their weddings. Maybe I should feel bad about that?

i'm 36 and have been in 9 weddings and have attended many more. from engagement parties to bridal showers to bachelorette parties to the wedding gifts, dresses, shoes etc, i have spent THOUSANDS. THOUSANDS. then baby showers, housewarming etc.

I am very thankful that all of my close friends either eloped, are still unmarried, or didn't have bridesmaids. I don't mind shelling out for a girls' night out/bachelorette party, though.

Wow. She is wildly out of proportion.

Also, screw you all. Everyone knows that Portia De Rossi has THE best hair ever.

This would be my sister's story... I should send her over here because I swear she must have a dozen books worth of restaurant stories.

The polenta thing is hilarious but does not surprise me at all, honestly.

Canadian lawyer here: She's not going to be sentenced to life. She COULD be, but she won't. This is why we have judges and judges have discretion to consider things like this (and this is why I hate the way the media reports potential sentences, because everyone thinks the maximum is far more likely an event than it

It's definitely illegal in Canada.
Somehow I doubt they outright said "no tap" though. He probably asked for water, and they slid him a bottle and he didn't want to say, "No, I want free water."

It's about coffee, so I'm going to give them a pass. They could just put up a picture of Starbucks and I'd be like, "Oh, that's cool."

Parenting. You are doing it right.

Same goes for female hockey fans :)

Geez, this almost made me tear up a little. Good on you. And the guy actually appreciated what you did for him instead of throwing a tantrum! *sniff*

YES, THIS IS PERFECT WAY TO END A LONG MONDAY

I was eating breakfast at a local joint one time. A couple tables away some schmuck was reading the riot act to one of the waitresses about his food. Now, understand, this place was a nice, cheap local diner. The food was OK but Wolfgang Puck wasn't working in the kitchen. I liked it and never had a bad meal there.
