How can I get a life while killing myself?

Wasn't it barely a year ago that everyone realized that all of their nests and nannycams were inherently accessible by (I think) IP address unless the owner encrypted it, which no one bothered to do? All the headlines read that anyone could be watching your baby sleep, like babies sleeping is fucking interesting.

I remember reading about the three strikes law at the wise old age of nine and thinking it was fucking insane. It's taken sixteen years, but CA has finally come to its senses and is letting these people out.
Of course, one guy released under this program went on a spree, injuring an officer and killing another. So

In addition to that: I'm not okay with trashing some random dude when we don't know the specifics of his crime. Judging by his age, it could easily have been that he was 18 and slept with a 15 year old.

Chiming in from a rural area in NorCal, only about 30m SW of Sacramento: the "town" facebook page used to be for lost horses and recommendations for trustworthy fencediggers. About two years ago, it was overrun by people excitedly discussing the upcoming racewar, posting pictures of lynchings along with loving shots

Yeah, but MbtS was by far the most attention getting (he's never been on SNL before), and when someone is the frontrunner for an Oscar, people go digging. It's also heavily rumored that heavyweights Affleck Sr and Matt Damon have protected him.

That doesn't pass the sniff test for me though. People pay up all the time even if they're not guilty, especially famous people trying to make something go away. But damning emails showing this woman was extorting the production company would make this a very, very different equation.
In this day and age, with the

The alleged assault and harassment took place on a film seven years ago. He settled, obviously. Don't you think if she had been extorting the film production company, he would've fought the lawsuit and said "this is a super obvious ploy for cash, and I can prove it with all these emails" rather than giving her some

Jewelry, like clothing, is loaned for the occasion with a steep deposit.

And also that the rest of the world was recovering from that massive war in which the US mostly made out like bandits. Most of the other major countries had been razed. Meanwhile, our servicemembers came home to a fairly unharmed country (sorry, Hawaii) and an economy that had flourished thanks to the war.
That boom

I like your grandparents and want to buy them, living and/or deceased, a drink.

Ok, this is why there's the term "sexual assault" instead of "rape." There was no penetration, but he was touching her inappropriately and he was in her bed. That's not harassment; harassment is telling women at work you'd like to fuck them (he did that to her too, both before and after this incident).
Yes, crawling

Sinus infection turned into ear infection turned into gallons of theraflu and wonton soup.

I'm weirdly personally happy for Peele, like in an I-knew-him-when way. Looking forward to seeing the movie.

IIRC, one of the women woke up in bed with Affleck next to her, reeking of booze, with no idea what he'd done while she was asleep. Allegedly. That's past the line of harassment, in my opinion.

I missed this trend entirely, is there any reason Four Loko is better than just getting red bull + vodka?

Taraji P Henson was in a film this year called Hidden Figures. She was not in this year's Fences adaptation.
Google it, dick.

Taraji was in Hidden Fences?

IIRC, Nicholson openly stated his displeasure with the result.

If the problem is that it all seems like misery porn, may I recommend 4th Man Out, over on Netflix? It's about a late-20s mechanic coming out to his best bros and them trying to find him dates. There's maybe 15-20 minutes of angst, sprinkled throughout, but mostly it's a good-natured and sweet movie filled with cute
