This was an awfully long way to go to say “no, homemade masks are not helpful in stopping the disease.” It sucks. I know people want to feel like they’re doing something useful, but sewing homemade masks isn’t going to stop anyone from getting sick or “flatten the curve.”

A 550 oven and a baking steel is totally fine and will give you great results with a slightly blistered crust. I don’t think that most commercial pizzarias run their ovens at 700 anyway. Clearly a Neaopolitan style joint does that or hotter, but your average Famous Rays almost certainly does not.
