Arrgh - to be clear, that's a set of two questions (did you buy foo, did you buy it digitally/retail) for each game. So, if you query on four games, eight questions total.

Missed an option: No, would have sold it except I bought it digitally.
Random trivia, I actually wrote the clue book for The Summoning. Took forever, but loved being able to dive into the game. One of those classics that sadly many will never be able to play!
Good question!
I would strongly encourage you getting industry experience first, as a producer or other industry jobs. An earlier draft of the article included this text (which got cut while tightening the document). I think it helps explain why experience is key.
Blame Excel. ;)
I've never gotten any pressure like that, and I'm not aware of other consultancies getting anything similar. I think the difference is that the studio/publisher is asking for an unbiased, external viewpoint that's "outside the bubble", from someone who does not have a direct stake in the product's success.
I do like that aspect of Kotaku's reviews. It forces the reader to read the article, and gives pros/cons of the game to consider.
It doesn't, really.
I would add that every studio has its strengths and weaknesses, and wants to be successful. If they can get assistance to improve their title, why wouldn't they? Especially in a world where games are made of teams of people with varying capabilities.
Actually, ends up being a very useful tool. It's a great framework to cover most sorts of projects, and clients are familiar with it as well.
I've always hated this question (no offense!), simply because I don't have a particularly useful answer. :)
Hey Jason, great question!
Arrgh. Good catch — that's gonna bug me for days, I can tell you. :)
Season 2 of House of Cards is being filmed in 4k, and has already released a 4k trailer.
The intent of the question was to dip a toe into the water and see how popular downloading a next-gen game digitally might be, which in turn gives a hint of the bandwidth and data cap impact this new capability might have on gamers. Seeing as how nearly 80% of respondents have stated they either have or will download…
Evil... but funny. ;)
Oh, it'll happen! Just lots of questions on how much bandwidth 4k streaming will consume right now. An uncompressed hour of 4k video can take up 1.72 Terabytes of storage, and Sony has gone on record as saying their compressed 4k video streams will take 40 GB per 2 hour movie download (so 20 GB/hour). Compression will…
It's Not Just About Gaming — Streaming Video Counts Too! Americans watch 34 hours of TV a week on average. 40% of subscribers to fixed broadband services (such as Comcast's cable) access at least some "over-the-top" video services such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon. However, for those under age 35, the figure jumps to…
I've found cookie tracking/blocking software can occasionally interfere. Something to check perhaps?
