i've really just started moving into underground hip hop: immortal technique and dead prez have been around since the early 2000s, but they both create confrontational and intelligent protest hip-hop  (IT is one of the angriest rappers ever, straight up: his disses are hilarious and kind of scary).

The best scene is when Hugh describes how the only free time he really has to himself is when hes "taking a dump"; he goes into detail that's both very funny, gross, and a little bit sad.

Funniest part of the episode is when Lauren Bacall spits out, "Motherfucker!" The idea of this old-school, classy actress (who could never swear in movies, of course) made me spit-take.

Nate on ecstasy makes me miss it a little. Like Mad Men where Roger takes acid and Peggy smokes pot, SFU showed how drugs could create positive moments of revelation and contemplation.

The two major relationship arcs of the show get started in this episode: Brenda and Nate are horrible together no matter what they do, while David and Keith have issues but are pretty awesome.

Lindsays great because hes probably the most ambiguous character in the Buffyverse (along with Jasmine): sure, all of Whedon's characters go back and forth between good and evil, but Lindsay never seemed interested in taking a strict moral ground on anything, which makes him sort of an enigma. you never know where

agreed. two very apt literary comparions to wesley: like wesley, carton and dantes are men who are put through hell and are sort of consumed, then brought back to life. they have nothing to lose, so they think nothing of putting their lives on the line, of sacrifice. also: i love that joss whedon's characters are so

God, I just watched the finale last week, just started weeping.

I kinda liked Billy. He's a twisted incestuous psychopath in season one (ok, the incest doesn't really stop), but on his meds, hes a weird, nice guy.
