the hitler bit was a really nice callback to his origins. of course he'd make an ad depicting hitler being physically attacked.

yeah its why i didn't love this one; it was just too goddamn unpleasant to watch at times.

Todd, your comment about Betty is totally dead-on; she will never be happy because she's never going to examine her problems in any constructive way. i'm not one of the people who think that betty is overwhelmingly horrible (although she was in this episode, i have a lot of sympathy for her too), i do think the show

she was going to work at a major bank. *kinda* tilts me in the "bad person" camp.

the health inspection thing was goofy, but his last line sells it: "im not only your sexually adventurous neighbor, im also a dedicated public servant."

Eh, gotta disagree on Depp; sure hes a little more sanitized, but he DID just do a musical where he played a murderous barber who slits throats and puts bodies into fucking pies. Thats like the opposite of family.

Filmmakers hire Peter Dinklage, he is awesome: "Fuck it, lets scrap this shit and just make something about him."

good point, but the duality theme hits home when you realize that bachelor, successful ad man, cynical Don is married with two kids.

Robert Johnston is my man.

american and british bands in one list, nah-but top 100 british bands, absolutely.

What a charming man. (chuckles lightly, listens to the Peel Sessions and cries)

i think he screwed it up, which makes it so much worse-when you hang yourself "right", your neck snaps immediately-he fucked it up so he actually struggled for a little while. the way the camera holds on it too is horrible.

did anyone else think she was kenny's statuatory girlfriend from eastbound and down?

Amazing job, especially the ending montage-the drip at the end is brilliant and really makes it a short story kind of episode.

my favorite line was "you missed the horseshit?". don was drunk, but that awesome, funny drunk.

Eh, I could see Pete being a good sort of dirty fighter, being the little weasel, and he held his own. Still, Lane FTW.

Surprisingly, Pete can beat Ken Cosgrove.

The line that had cheering was "You're a grimy little pimp." Which he totally is.

Last season kind of had the theme of losing what you wanted or gaining it; this season, especially for roger, betty, and pete, its getting everything and still being unhappy.
