agreed, whats with the cruise hate? the guys not the best actor in the world, but he was very good in magnolia and minority report and fucking tropic thunder. hes worked with directors like steven spielberg, pt anderson, stanley kubrick, and martin scorsese (albeit in what many ppl think is a crappy movie). hes a

nice
good list; you're likely right about the clash, what an absolutely kickass album. i think martin scorsese said "janie jones" was the best british rock song ever, and he hit the nail on the head: the swagger, the rage and just the coolness of that song just feels really good. and yeah, the damned are kind of

ive read the goldman book too
and what i honestly think goldman meant was that eastwood is just good at making movies quickly. it might work as a flaw at times, but i honestly think Eastwood's a careful, considered filmmaker. Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby, Play Misty for Me, Gran Torrino, The Outlaw Josey Wales,

indeed, outlaw josey wales seems pretty half-assed to me. pssh, subversion of western narrative.

sorry man, im not a fan. i just think her musics pretty boring.

huh
it doesnt sound great, but it sounds like radnors got talent as a director. im curious what hell do later.

cameron and mitchell
were both really good when mitchell confessed; the scene dealt well with the emotions around having a child, and the terror of someone abandoning you in the middle of it. plus im pretty sure mitchell was crying, which added to it. kudos.

ugh
lester bang's essay "james taylor marked for death" says it all. i dunno, i feel like the only great singer-songwriters of that period were harry nilsson and jackson browne, but nilsson was a demented genius, and browne wrote "these days" and "fairest of the seasons". the descendents of james taylor live on today

There are some decent Fat Wreck and Epitaph bands, but they're few and far between. Really happy we're slowly emerging from that era.

most critics dont really like "stoned" scenes, but im a total sucker for them, and as much as ted and marshall and lily were overacting, they WERE funny: the hugging, the trailing off into different directions, the amped up love and empathy…i dunno, i think that shits hilarious.

bruce springsteen <fat mike
has fat mike ever been exciting?

yeah
im an apologist for this episode. it's really, really bad, but i do love adrienne barbeau's performance as catwoman. she kind of makes the episode just a little bit better.

Lets see
Dead Set On Destruction by Husker Du, At The Bottom of Everything by Bright Eyes, just the obvious stuff with planes. But for a real, senseless death… a day in the life; sunday morning, velvet underground; blue jeans and white t shirts, gaslight anthem; the sweet thing suite by bowie; and dead souls by joy

Observe and Report is fantastic; Seth Rogen goes into some really dark territory in that movie, something I kind of want to see him do again soon.

Don't let the bastards grind you down!

fantastic episode
heart of ice, i mean; not the incredibly embarassing "basement" one. (insert ramones joke here)

yeah i did like barney saying, "so what if i think she smells like rain?" nph is good at making barney a horny bastard and a vulnerable man child.

i love this show
but i just keep feeling bad kyle mclachlan; when zoey said she was happy she and ted were together for valentines day, i went "noooo! but kyle mclachlan is alone! dude made blue velvet!" i mean cmon!

no
NO!!! Goddamnit, my comic geek douche side is coming out…arrrgggh (hulk transformation) Spider_man's costume is too blue! the original ditko design specifically has red over those areas! noooooo!

Oh, man thats a damn good idea. Then again, marion cotillard anywhere is fine by me. especially in my bed. OH! I'm so sorry.
