pet sematary has a truly nasty horror ending. honestly, one of my favorites of his books, and it still scares the shit out of me.

stephen king kind of has a weird thing for shit like this in his books; hes a great idea guy, and often churns out fantastic books, but at his worst, he shoves in perverted, strange moments into the story. id guess its because he doesnt outline his novels, which actually kind of pisses me off, i guess. just because

damn
excellent analysis. i do like the strains of ambiguity mixed with a good and evil divide though; lloyd henreid is both a nasty criminal and a strangely decent guy destroyed by his loyalty to flagg, and harold is incredibly tragic. even flagg is given humanity in a way; the fact that he never remembers any of his

the hobbit
guiellermo del toro's vision of the hobbit looked amazing; just read a new yorker profile on him, and his ideas for smaug and the dwarves sound incredible. i also don't hold out hope for his versions of at the mountains of madness and frankenstein.

yeah, but it's still fucking hilarious. good use of good guy walking away from an explosion too.

jesse eisenberg is honestly unsettling in the social network, while michael cera kind of seems like a teddy bear.

I want to wear you like the crown you are..

by the way, was anyone else as emotionally shattered by that scene? the dark knight wasn't perfect, but nolan should be given credit for presenting a scene in a blockbuster with so much emotion, rage, bitterness, and real horror. the gordons begging harvey not to punish their son just got to me.

I dig the Judge episode, theres a sense that two face has lost all hope with that point.

great episode
love the scene where vernon reads the profile out loud, harvey's rage and torment getting him more and more upset until thorne's talking to the wrong harvey (and yes, badass moment).

i think
lana is the michael bluth of the group: more reasonable than everyone else, but still secretly batshit.

hawthorne's
depressed me, but the all my friends video is transcendent; i rarely hear songs that i feel like as much as i do "all my friends".

lovecraft: i think it's the people they associate with. the way punk media and indie media treat bands sometimes feels like high school; fake problems gets covered on punknews and not on pitchfork because of the bands they tend to open for and what venues they go to, etc. most of it is meaningless bullshit, but there

i kind of thought ralphie killed the horse, but you know what? it's a forgivable crime; his son is in the hospital, bills are high, and you need the money. it's not right, but it's not the worst mistake hes made. i agree that tony killed ralph however unconciously because ralph is becoming good, something tony can't

i remember
finding tobin bell's major kind of cool. good episode all around: the lighting in carmela and tony's fight scene brings up a recurring element in the show of tony as a monster, looming over people. the part that makes me laugh though, is when the seven year old kid keeps beating jackie jr. at chess, while

well
it sucks hard that i'll never get to see them live, but white seems to be pretty active in other bands, and icky thump is actually a good way to go out.

six feet under
always had some good pot scenes. the characters just kind of acted high. not that the shows related except for krause, but he did have a glorious scene on ectasy.

review
ceremony, their last album came out last year but no one reviewed it. badass piece of hardcore punk.

i've read
the thing kevin smith said about slacker in his blog, and I actually think that's kind of cool. I haven't read that interview, but I actually like that Smith realized that moviemaking is possible, and that you don't need to be this brilliant auteur to do it. Smith's not a great "director", but his writing

mine
cottage cheese and ketchup. fuck yeah; one of the few things id be friends with nixon over.
