I probably shouldn't say this but…

Oh man, now I want Bernard Cribbins back. He acted the shit out of The End of Time!

* Loved that final scene between Clara and The Doctor, and how toned down it was, very unlike NuWho. Reminded me of Sarah Jane saying goodbye when 4 was summoned to Gallifrey. Just The Doctor dropping off his friend, saying a few words and then simply getting back on the Tardis. Powerful stuff.

If next week doesn't include some kind of ending speech by 12 "where he got that face from" I'll be quite disappointed.

It's kind of great that, in an era of television where plot twists and shocks that you can't see from miles away are of the highest importance, Missy is "just" The Master. I mean, couldn't be more perfect: let her bounce off for Capaldi for a couple of years, Gomez is a perfect match.

Yeah, okay, not the best episode. I guess that sometimes, in the hunt for a good episode, you forget to write, well, a good episode. I also think that some of that may be to blame for being the last episode in the series before the big finale. I can imagine a lot of character stuff not being in the first drafts,

I wasn't a big fan of showing the 66-second countdown literally tick away on-screen, but it did honestly pay off in the end, in what was probably my favorite moment of the entire episode: Capaldi taking the energy-gun and blasting Maisie's grief inside his own head.

I take it you never watched Fringe? Good thing, too. They had single cell organisms the size of small dogs over there.

Hell, if Series 8 continues this amazing streak of episodes and sticks the landing, it'll surpass Series 5 by a long shot. I mean, yeah, the first Smith season comes together really well, but it also has a surprising lot of clunkers. I didn't care for Victory of the Daleks or The Silurian two-parter (until the last

Fantastic episode. I've been waiting for that final exchange between Clara and The Doctor for, what, about nine years now? Eh, Martha had minor quibbles with Ten, and Amy said "What's the point of you?" once, but this was a very strong moment, much like Rose parting ways with Nine in Father's Day. Great stuff.

Damn it, really thought The Architect was gonna be The Master. 12's rant about how he HATED him instantly seemed to hint in that direction, and him hitting the gong registered as a callback to The Sound of Drums.

Hardest Top 3 so far. That pretty much says it all.

Capaldi Weekly Top 3

Last person who got that was… Clara? In The Snowmen? That would certainly make it a good hunch.

I get what you're getting at. Really, I was also drawing unwanted parallels between Greg House and Twelve last week (which is kind of silly, given that House debuted in 2004, and Doctor Who has been around for 50+ years). This week, however, Twelve's character felt more grounded to me, and part of that is probably

Capaldi Weekly Top Three:
1. The Doctor's pledge to the Dalek to see beyond his hatred
2. "Top layer if you want to say a few words."
3. "Your hips are fine, you're built like a man!"
("Clara, be my pal…" would also count, but the many promos kinda ruined that one)

Is it too soon for a Top 3 Capaldi Moments? Because here they come!

You know, there was someone reading The Stranger in the pilot episode, which seemed to me like a hint towards Camus' philosophy. I mean, the scene in the pilot where the police chief (already forgot his name after this Eccleston episode) and his GR wife were unable to comfort each other just because they had asserted

Is everyone else also getting some serious Camus vibes from this show?
