That was a deliberate choice on Fuller's part, apparently- he wanted to avoid the sexualization of violence at all costs, to the point that even the scene where Will is re-enacting the murder of the night nurse was kind of pushing the limits as far as he was concerned. One of the things I like about this show is that

Clicked all the way through the comments to see if someone had posted this. It's tied with "It's a Sin" for favorite cover off that album, to the point that I prefer Anka's swing cover to the original of both songs.

I'm rewatching Hannibal via iTunes to inflict it on a friend, and she has a MUCH better sound system than I do. It's amazing how much more intense the show is when you can really get the full range of rumbles and dissonance in the low end of the spectrum. And as mentioned, the decay in Will's sanity as conveyed

Made better by Hank's consistent mispronunciation as "Yankovitch"

Actually I'm calling it now- the mid-season twist is that everyone on the Miami Metro police force is a serial killer, and Dexter is the only one who was too stupid to see it, as a nice echo of first-season Dexter/Doakes. I'm talking *everyone*. The Captain (who is, or isn't, retired?), Angel, Masuka, New Black Lady

Yeah, it seems even more obvious than the Travis thing, which I didn't think was possible. Listening to her dialogue with the assumption that she's a psycho killer adds a lot of weight to certain lines, which I assume is the writers trying their usual "oh man, this ironic line is going to blow people's minds when they

I take exception to that!

My favorite network comedy meets my favorite network drama!

We also would have accepted "Everybody Hurts."

Her?

To be fair, the previews were *really* dumb, particularly that they kept showing that clip where Lecter is standing right behind Will and Will's all, "Did you just smell me?"

Even though I absolutely should have seen it coming a mile away, I was still blindsided by:
"Sure, if you believe what Jesus did was a trick."
(audience gasps)
"I don't."
(audience makes relieved noise)
"What Jesus did was an ILLUSION!"

As much as I love her blog and look forward each week to reading about the unique challenges of staging food on Hannibal, it's absolutely impossible for me to say her name without spitting it out as a thick drawl. Janice PUHOON.

"In that regard, it's a little bit like the fourth season of Community, only not as soulless and a lot funnier."

I don't usually repost, but I found Janice Poon's opening poem from her "Feeding Hannibal" blog particularly lovely and amusing this week:

Gotta be ready to contaminate a crime scene on a moment's notice.

If, as Fuller has indicated, Season 2 focuses on Mason Verger (and perhaps his family too), then what we may see is some separation between Will and Hannibal for a season. Perhaps forced- maybe Will is in custody/recovery for a large chunk of the season? A little distance so that Will can separate his personal

I have the same problem. It's rare for any show to spend as much time as Hannibal does showing a character just… appreciating things. Whether it be wine, or food, or some sort of visual art, or music, just taking a quiet moment to enjoy something beautiful for as long as possible. As merely an avid *liker* of things,

Indeed. Best not to overwhelm the palate, as it comes at the cost of masking the subtler notes that you catch only when you have a moment (and perhaps the right wine) to properly appreciate them.
