The Riddler

Well, that's what makes it fun, isn't it? If there were no challenge it'd be boring. And you know how much I hate being bored.

Much like Gotham, he was viscerally unpleasant to watch on TV and assumed that the American people were idiots.

Yes, there was. A little too foul-mouthed to resemble the genuine article, but appropriately irritable.

We had someone attempting a Batman gimmick once or twice in the old B:TAS reviews. Also, a Bullock, as I recall. Neither lasted long. They weren't good at riddles.

It sure is!

Socket to me!

Once again for those in the cheap seats: Everyone on this show is an idiot.

Apparently I'm a trendsetter.

You are a leaf on the wind.

No, I didn't. I was busy paying attention to a lousy TV show so I could devise a clever riddle for an audience that clearly can't be bothered to think past 9 pm.

You really have to stop watching the playoffs and Gotham at the same time.

Your brown-nosing is demeaning as ever, Tetch. Also, WRONG!

Compared to this show, every Riddler story is a much better Riddler story.

RIDDLE ME THIS, AV CLUB!

TIME'S UP! Ugh, this is what I get for going highbrow on you people. I thought that it was enough of a clue that Barnes waves his lance, or SHAKES his SPEAR, and that if you SCRAMBLED the END of the riddle, you would find that THEM ABC becomes MACBETH, a very useful teaching tool for Gotham's current situation.

Your mistake is in expecting this show to depict recognizable human behavior.

Of course I'll admit that. I'm proud of it!

In case anyone was wondering, this is basically what it sounds like to live in the cell next to Jervis at Arkham.

Hooks, you say? Don't mind if I do!

Now, now, it's not really that confounding. All your questions can be answered by the simple principle I identified last season: Everyone on this show is an idiot.
