Why not Stone Pimple Toilets?
Nice work on this Gateway. Hawkwind is part of the vast complex of things I know next to nothing about.
"What are you laughing at, Mary?"
I'm very fond of Dean Jagger's performance as the Snakecatcher. It's as if he took up residence out in the boonies following his work in 'Bad Day At Black Rock' then resumed for 'VP'.
A neighbor of mine was friends with Severn Darden, who plays J. Hovah, back in the day.
When in doubt, run into something big and sharp.
Fun fact: Naked Chick On Dirtbike's then-boyfriend was Paul Koslo, the young redneck who throws the first rock through Super Soul's studio window.
Cary Loftin's work in this movie is top-notch, though several of the stunts strain credulity. It's just big, dumb, humid fun all around. Definitely a Ford movie, what with the ol' '49 tanker and the new-at-the-time '57 Mitchum's character rams through the roadblock.
I hate the word "awesome" in its ubiquity and application to any and all things, few of which meet the criteria of "awesome".
Yeah. My VHS was nabbed from a library sale- it's a studio copy and nice and clear but still kind of scrungy around the edges.
I love the Seven-Ups. Boss little Pontiac.
I admire the scene wherein the emerging from the Firebird spreads his hands and says, "I'm just the driver". 'Driver' says, "Go home". Nice.
I have the original GI6S on tape and saw it as a kid in the theater when it came out in, what, '74 or-'5.
Great view, and thanks for the prompt to continue, "whose incorrupted eye" etc.
The short time I lived in LA ['79-'80] I became something of a Doors fan, though I was young and deeply suspicious of anything that smacked of the dinosaur rawk I was running from at the time. It was difficult not to think of "LA Woman" while standing in Griffith Park late at night, looking at the city sprawled below.
Love this movie. Top of the '70s car-chase pantheon with Dern in full-on Dern mode.
His father was a can opener, his mother was a wood duck.
I'll gladly view this film if it mines the plot of the second half of 'Red Zone Cuba':
"Ooooooooh! Fresh towels in the guest room!"
Even more tragic is the film 'What We Do Is Secret". Just dumb as hell.
