When I bought it in '81 or thereabouts I stuck the 3 12" 45s into plastic sleeves which made the process of freeing them from the film can easy. Without, the records get banged up something awful. It's akin to the Durutti Column's sandpaper-sleeved…
I read the Cheever stories this past summer and loved it. 'The Swimmer' is as good as it gets, I think.
I'm a big Greene fan and have read all I could find. 'Power' is one of his best, right up there with 'The Heart Of The Matter'. As a lapsed Catholic, all of Greene, and 'Power' in particular, are very resonant.
