Can we all just hold off mentioning Alexander in any way, ever?  Even when we get to reviews of episodes where he appears?  We all know we'll be happier that way, so let's just agree to that now and spare ourselves the anguish later.

True, but being a selfish bastard who enjoys his weekly dose of Handlen Trek reviews, I still object and disapprove.

Arbitrar of Quality mentioned Roddenberry's mandate that the TOS/TNG crews be perfect together, which is something that always bugged me a little bit.  I can understand what Roddenberry was aiming for - the idea that humans have developed to the point that we all get along much better in the future - but he took it a

Yep.  He shot the entire movie using 3-D cameras based on the ones Cameron used in Avatar.  So whether the movie is good or bad (and I have high hopes because Ridley Scott isn't in the habit of churning out crap), at least the 3-D will look good.

I want to see it in 3-D because Scott chose to film it that way. I have yet to see a movie that was originally filmed in 2-D look convincing after being "converted" to 3-D (like Don Staples said, Clash of the Titans is a major offender - a money grubbing 3-D hack job that looked like crap). Say what you will about

If I recall correctly, at the end of last season the reviewer remarked that season #1 was a mostly faithful adaptation of the first book in the series.  I've never read the books (I'm waiting to make sure the author manages to finish them all before he dies) so I'm curious to know the answer to a question that

Slog your way through the entire first season. Trust me, the series gets a hell of a lot better.  Don't get me wrong - there are some major turds in the first season, but most of them contain at least a scene or two of good character development or setup for something that becomes important later on (the main

So basically what you're saying is that the sequel won't include a scene where Ryan Reynolds gets bent over the sink in the bathroom of a seedy bar?  Because after seeing the first movie, I assumed that already happened but got edited out in favor of something more boring.

Maybe, but I double-checked and confirmed that right before it got punched, the alien was definitely whipping its hair back and forf.

As luck would have it, I just saw The Avengers last night and now know exactly what you're talking about.  Frankly, I think it's one of the best feats of moviemaking I've seen in a long time, and once again proves Joss Whedon's awesomeness.  On the surface, that movie
