For the record, Cherry Poppin' Daddies were never a swing band. They had occasional swing songs here and there on various albums, and that "Zoot Suit Riot" album isn't actually an album — it's a compilation of similarly-themed songs (i.e. all the swing-style ones) from their previous records.

Holy shit…this discussion, somewhere, went from talking about bland 90s rock bands to talking about MOP.

I liked it, although it was quite predictable.

They waste Bruce Campbell within minutes of the movie starting.

Yeah, this was great. I actually watched the Mario Van Peebles movie before getting around to seeing the Melvin Van Peebles movie ("Sweet Sweetback's etc.")

Half Baked is awesome. I mean, I haven't seen it in about 10 years, but I remember being interested in Chappelle's Show when it came out (having never seen any of the skits before) based solely on Chappelle's performance in Half Baked.

I refuse to listen to her because her first name is so retarded.

Now that I'm a father, I get to enjoy the Aquabats all over again via Yo Gabba Gabba.

I'm going to have to look up that second one. Sounds awesome.

I'm pretty sure the Dickies are loved by everybody.

The presence of Don McKellar is a sure sign that you're watching a Canadian movie.

Yeah, the WBBB cowboy weirdness video was a classic.

Yeah, the long-haired stoner Flag is miles ahead of the high-speed punk Flag in my books.

"Dreadlock Holiday" was my introduction to 10cc.

Say what you will about Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's records, but they were a great live band.

…but it's definitely a "one-man cult" kind of show. Even here in Canada, I only know two people who are big fans of it. Most people have a vague recollection of it being some CBC thing and little else.

The Newsroom is probably my favourite TV series ever. It's brilliant.

As long as they keep Azrael out of the movie, I'm cool.

Let's hope Underwood is crazy enough to get a face tattoo of an ice cream cone with lightning bolts.

I was around 25 at the time. Seems weird to think that some people here were born in the 90s, but it's probably equally weird for people in their 30s/40s to think that some people here were born in the 80s.
