I came here looking for this, actually. I saw the picture of the Clash and assumed that's the song they were going to be talking about.

To further some of the other discussion about Canadian bands, I would like to suggest 54-40 as a band that should have been bigger.
I think it's a case of her having the absolute worst first name for a woman in the history of first names.
I always loved the Odds.
I always hated Matthew Good. He was absolutely brutal in interviews (just a pretentious asshole), and his lyrics and videos were even worse. Plus, I can't stand his voice at all.
I have "Cool for Cats" on vinyl, but I don't think I've ever seen another Squeeze album in a record store. Maybe their catalogue is due for a reissue?
I always thought the Rheostatics were relatively popular. Maybe that's just here in Canada, though.
Yeah, there is a part of me that makes me glad the Hip are *ours* and that the Yanks haven't tried to steal them like they steal everything else.
I would cut off that amazing run of Hip albums at Day for Night. Trouble at the Henhouse was very good, but not quite at the quality of the previous records.
I don't get it either. They should be huge worldwide.
Wait, Tripping Daisy? Don't pin that shit on us. They were from Texas. Not Canadians.
I don't think Sloan needs a consoltation prize. They're very, very popular here in Canada. They could still have a very successful career without ever leaving this country.
I would just like to point out, as a Canadian, that it's bizarre to see Sloan on a list of "bands that should have been bigger." Sloan is incredibly popular here at home. I would also suggest that an entire list could be made of "Bands that should have been bigger IN THE STATES," as there are a whole pile of bands…
I liked this movie. An "F" is ridiculous, unless the reviewer had some idea in its head of what the flick was going to be, and then gave it such a harsh rating to punish it for not living up to its expectations.
I couldn't help but notice that "Everybody Has AIDS" by Me, Mom & Morgentaler was ommitted, as was "Reggaemylitis" by Peter Tosh.
The worst is probably (again in those Bio of a Space Tyrant books) where the protagonist has to watch his sister and a whole bunch of other women get gang-raped and eventually kidnapped (presumably for future raping) by pirates.
Asprin died? I had no idea.
So pleased to see the Asprin series showing up here. I completely agree with you. The later books kind of seem like he was just bowing to fan pressure to do another Skeeve book, and his heart wasn't really in it.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Martin kicks it before the series is finished. Hopefully he has some notes as to the story's ending lying around so some hack can finish it for him.
tl;dr every Piers Anthony book is about rape.
