I also never got into Pavement. I was certainly aware of them, as I had friends who listened to them, but their music just never appealed to me, for whatever reason.

Also, I don't think Nowell dying young necessarily helped Sublime's career. If they'd been able to tour on the strength of "What I Got" and "Santeria" (both of which were HUGE singles), I think they would have been even bigger.

OK, a few things:

"Frogstomp" is a good album. The lyrics are straight-up retarded, but there are some awesome songs on there (probably only "awesome" due to nostalgia, but still…)

Asian Man Records turned into a shitty emo label so gradually I didn't even notice.

Neil Young went to my high school. I win.

AIC should not be blamed for all the shitty bands that played watered-down versions of their sound.

Wait, it's almost 2011 and he's only now going to jail for some non-crime* he committed in 2007? Justice does not move swiftly.

I remember the first time I heard "Wanksta." I kept waiting for the song to start. Then I realized that the part I thought was an off-beat spoken introduction was actually the song.

Who's going to start making up serial killers?

@Witchpolice

Meet Me in St. Louis is actually an awesome movie. Mrs. Astro finally convinced me to watch it with her.

Party at Ground Zero.

I actually really enjoy getting together with a small group of friends, having drinks, listening to records, and playing board games. I'd much rather do that than go to some wild party with a ton of people.

I saw a picture of Soulja Boy on the cover of some rap magazine the other day, and the kid has face tattoos. FACE tattoos. What the fuck?

People need to stop with the Sean Paul backlash. I have a video of dude performing in Jamaica (pre-fame) and he fucking kills it. He was even in a group with Daddigon (RIP) back then.

Page's drug bust was hilarious. That shit was all over the newspapers up here.

There's no way the Yankovic version is better-known than the original.

I still have "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues" on tape.

Until I read your comment, I assumed the story was talking about a moo cow, but now that I think of it, a whale "cow" makes a hell of a lot more sense.
