I mentioned this in the discussion for a previous entry in this series, and it pissed a lot of people off, but here it is again:

Yeah, Cochise was the best thing Audioslave ever did.

I didn't get into "Down on the Upside" as much as "Superunknown" — which may have been because everyone I hung out (myself included) with listened to Superunknown constantly — but DOTU does have some great songs.

By far the best series on the AV Club ever. If this ever becomes a book, count me in for buying it. Excellent, excellent writing.

I was 12, had just purchased "Nevermind" and "In Utero" a few days earlier after being introduced to the band by some friends. I was at a friend's house, and we were listening to tapes (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc.) and most likely playing Battle Masters (anyone remember that game?)

Uh, that documentary you guys are talking about (the one you saw on either CBC or PBS) has been out on DVD for a while now.

It's so weird to see comments like these. I live in Winnipeg, and I've seen at least 15-20 native people already today. It's not unusual at all. Some of my neighbours are native. One of my best friends is native.

I think the victor of a boring drive contest would be Manitoba-Saskatchewan. Nothing but flatness as far as the eye can see. I love it, though.

Cookie, I had the "Journey: Escape" game for Atari 2600 too.

It's probably going to suck, but I'm still going to watch it.

I was just mad because I thought this article was referring to November as "fall." Then I read the rest and realized it was about shows I wasn't even aware still existed.

Diary is the only album of theirs I've heard, and it's awesome.

I even love the posthumous "Nico" collection, and the "Letters From a Porcupine" documentary.

YES, THANK YOU. BRUCE LEE.

Motherfucker stabbed himself in the chest. I still can't believe that. I don't really care about his music.

Since I apparently can't make new posts using this shitty browser, and this is the only thing I can reply to that even vaguely talks about sports, I'd like to offer the following list of sports teams that should still exist, in a just universe:

The Minutemen had such a sudden ending, so yeah.

I wish John Coltrane had lived a little longer.

Jim Henson, definitely. Now that I have a kid, I'm a fan of the Muppets again after a long hiatus. Henson was a genius.

Sam Cooke was definitely the first one I thought of. As sad as his death was, he still managed to say my all-time favourite last words: "lady, you shot me!"
