Not to undercut the multitude of great albums they've come out with, but little stuff like this go even further to prove why the Roots are one of the greatest bands ever across all genres. Lots of people have come out with great rap albums, few can make a disposable pop song so damn enjoyable.

Thanks for the tip, this was really funny. My only question is where are Rob Corddry, Paul Scheer, and Martin Starr? Do they show up later, or was Heisler just using them as examples of these types of comedians?

I'm even more psyched for McDonough. Take another look at the supporting actor section. Its ridiculously stacked.

Hot Rod is one of the most consciously dumb movies I've ever seen, but damn, you don't get much funnier than it at 10 on a Friday night after a real long week.

I can't believe you Philly AV Clubians aren't even mentioning the Roots Picnic at Penn's Landing, which I went to on Saturday, which was AWESOME. Tune-yards, St. Vincent, De La Soul, Mos Def, and of course The Legendary Roots Crew, it was like music Nirvana.

I think Layne's death worked beautifully because of what post crunk said. The show basically flat-out told you that it was going to happen, which made the slow-burn of his imminent suicide all the more dramatic, and prevented it from being a Shocking Act of Violence. This is why, even though I love how nuanced Mad Men

Tropic Thunder is great, and I think Jack Black and Jay Baruchel had very underrated performances. Baruchel was the heart of the movie, and how great was black in the "Alpha Chino digs the pussy!" scene?

That's probably the most disturbing episode of Adventure Time that I've seen. He's is one deeply disturbed, deeply funny individual.

I thought it was a perfect manifestation of Pete's character when he took Joan's great diss "I don't think you could afford it!" as a bargaining tactic. The irony that followed, in which his misinterpretation  ended up working, was equally brilliant.

Probably either jail or death for Lane. I just don't see things turning out well for the poor guy.
