I'm sorry if I seemed like I was validating his claim that he was being indicted of Orwellian thought crime. That certainly wasn't my intention, and of course those claims are nonsense. I was just trying to juxtapose one claim against the other.

I watched it with my mom, aunt, and grandmother, and we all laughed our asses off at Matthew's death. And we had all enjoyed the show unironically to varying degrees up to that point.

I disagree. In my personal experience, lobster tastes delicious, and catfish tastes like mud with mercury sprinkles. They are both delicacies however, and I'm hardly a foodie anyway, so I doubt it would make much difference to me if one was or if one was not. I would bet that it probably had more to do with people

Reed said it was a love song, but he also emphasized that his interpretations of his own songs were not necessarily the correct interpretations. It's supposed to be open-ended.

Ok, fair enough. LOTR is 3/4 now, but you're probably right that it will eventually be 3/6.

I wouldn't say it's a better track record than LOTR, they went 3 for 3 unless you count The Hobbit. Even so, 3/4 is pretty good!

It is, but what I meant was that from the perspective of teenaged angst it seems like the world is fucked up in a way that it's specifically designed to make you suffer. It's more self-centered than seeing the world as a fucked up place that ends up harming just about everyone who lives in it.

I downvoted you too for extra popularity points. This may be the first time where downvoting was kind of sweet.

And even season 5 was only the worst because of the two plotlines (serial killer and newspaper) that didn't work. The other stuff with Bubbles, Prop Joe, Marlo, Omar, Carcetti, Daniels, etc. was very much up to par with the show's standard.

People seem to get a kick out of arbitrarily downvoting popular commenters. Just look at the downvotes Scrawler gets.

If you replace "alter ego" with "imposter" and take out the rap part, then yes.

Have we just discovered Cookie Monster's secret identity?

Godammit, I hoped the Scrawler downvoter would just at least just stick to the Dissolve.

Yeah 18-19 works too, as long as you're at an age where the world seems like a really fucked up place, and you don't know where you belong in it.

I think as time goes on Vitalogy will become widely recognized as their best album, as it deserves to be.

I think the key to liking Pearl Jam is listening to them in that high-school mid-teenage period, like 14-17. For most teens who feel angsty at that age (so pretty much everybody) Pearl Jam really has a deep resonance that can't be fully explicated, especially the stuff from Ten and Vitalogy. I dunno if you started

@avclub-41e23e24ee2670c4128cd7e5e5ee42ab:disqus I really have to strongly disagree with you there. Since becoming Jimmy Fallon's house band, the Roots have come out with How I Got Over, Undun and Wise Up Ghost. The former two are two of the best albums of their career, and the latter is still a fascinating and

John Slattery actually did an audiobook for A Farewell To Arms. He used a lot of funny Italian accents, particularly for Rinaldi.

Did you read Sean O'Neal's AMA? Apparently the moderators wanted to ban the Taco Bell Bell many times, but O'Neal fought tooth and nail to keep him on. Why the fuck is that harmless and often very funny gimmick a bannable offense?
