Bad Day at Black Rock
Spencer Tracy as John Macreedy is a total bad ass in this film - and he's only got one (working) arm. Anyone who beats up Ernest Borgnine with only one arm deserves a mention in this list.

Ah, right. I fuckin' get it now. The fact that he's left 700 comments on the rest of the threads would also seem to indicate it's the real one. It's just he's normally so sweet natured and affable and I didn't like the cursey version…

Anyone else think that this current MBS cusses a bit too much and doesn't use enough caps… I call bullshit. Especially since he admitted to not knowing this guy was Richard Harris's son. The real MBS would know that AND have all his movies on VHS.

He may just have recognised the likeness of Our Lord and Saviour. Potato chips, omelettes, the severed head of a Swedish bully - it's funny where his image crops up.

Ah, I love Dina Sours. Not as good as Mint Juleps, but still damn tasty.

Greatest in history.

Not really a strip in the style of C&H or Peanuts, but I'm a big fan of The Perry Bible Fellowship:

Anyone who succeeds in getting all these annoying phrases suspended deserves a lifetime pass.

Gorilla, you've made me want to see this film now.

You should check out the cover to The Trials of Van Occupanther then.

You can trace a direct line from Minor Threat to Midlake, by way of 2 Unlimited. Or maybe Usher.

Is it a glove?

I miss Burl. Ha ha!

I went to an independent fee-paying school in an average Manchester suburb on a scholarship ("assisted place") and hardly anyone ever tries to borrow money off me. Mainly because I haven't got any.

That's a bit harsh, what did I do to you?

Got a friend have you?

Very true. The litany of euphemisms they (particularly Jay) come out with is a joy to behold. My favourite is probably "clunge".

"I'm Agent Johnson. This is Special Agent Johnson. No relation."

That contract dispute should have been settled by way of a mediation/alternative dispute resolution procedure, not by use of blasters. Yet again, Star Wars goes down the boring laser beam route when it could have concentrated on something interesting.

Reefer Sutherland?
