That's exactly what it means. But it sure sounded like he said "bugger" to me. Which is not QUITE enough of an excuse for me to go track it down on Hulu (with captions on).

Maybe they transmogrified while stuck in the earth? Which appears to have been exceptionally gooey.

The water rant was also priceless.

Nothing on IMDB at the moment …

Honestly I was squinting at the TV - admittedly not a very large one - and couldn't really make it out what with all the muck and fog.

"We band of buggered" - thank you, Giles and Spike.

TOTALLY (see my comment) (or don't bother - but yes).

I would like to think that, too - except, wasn't this in the can before the show started airing?

Heh. What's really sad is that he kept saying, "My name is Andy Brooks" and I STILL can't keep it in my head.

Reply to your edit - I was fortunate I'd just swallowed some water when that happened. Because you can see some stuff coming on this show (Ichabod versus the Internet was bound to happen), but that? No.

One of the high points - for me - was a tiny moment: Abbie oh-so-casually blowing out the candle in one of the Freemasons' heads just as the show went to commercial.

I saw this at midnight on the day it was released, on a dinky screen in Greenwich Village, and again a couple of days later in 70 glorious mm at the Ziegfeld. Besides being a delight to watch, it looked just great, and I totally agree with all the points the author has made about the way CGI was used - sparingly,

Yes, thank you. My comment was totally inadequate. What Thewlis accomplished is still crazy brilliant. Twenty years on I've seen nothing else like that performance.

Nihilism is always nibbling around the edges in his films. The fabulous scene in Life Is Sweet in which Alison Steadman's character argues in favor of optimism works so well because the character she's talking to is so, so close to the edge.

Oh, god, oh, god, oh, god, this movie. I watched it alone, which was not advisable. That being said, it is amazing - largely due to Thewlis's performance.

Hooking up? I avoided it, but it was everywhere. My favorite guy I turned down was a drunk Wall Street idiot whose response to, "That's very flattering, but no" was, and I am not making this up: "Why? I don't have herpes."

Oh, God, Picnic at Hanging Rock. I know it's fiction, but it didn't feel that way when I watched it. And yes to the end of Safe as well.

SO TOTALLY LIKED for "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose"!

Yes - and "nyght," too!

Watch the trailer for Ep. 6!
